Picture it...two sisters on the lam from the families.....we chose Chateau Dupre off of the internet, once we arrived we never doubted our choice. The ambience of the hotel was great, as was the air conditioning! Coming back from Bourbon Street sweaty from the heat and humidity - imagine our delight in the frigid temps of the hotel. Adonis was... More

Management response:

Thank you for taking time to personally recognize several hotel employees. I will pass on your kind words. We recently upgraded our air conditioning to a new system; which I am glad you were able to enjoy. On behalf of my associates, we all hope to see your family return in the future. Best Regards, More

We stayed in the Chateau Dupre and had the opportunity to meet one of the nicest hotel employees ever. Adonis who worked at the front desk greeted us with a friendly smile, patiently answered all our questions about the area, and went above and beyond in every way to insure the quality of our visit. I travel a lot in... More

The Chateau Dupre was a charming departure from the usual chain hotels. The room was decorated with an old world charm but clean with modern amenities. Location wise, I do not believe I could have asked for a better spot. It's 5 minutes of walking distance to the French Market, Bourbon St., and the river front. Not to mention, it's... More

This place was worse than any place I've ever stayed. There were rats in the hallway. We were there about 1 hour when I knew I could not sleep in this place. We were charged for the 3 days we had reserved because we made the reservations online and it was non refundable. That was okay with me...I just wanted... More

My husband and I had never been to New Orleans before, but knew that we wanted to be in the French Quarter. After reading reviews of hotels, it seemed like the Chateau Dupre would be goodspot. We got there on Friday morning to see if we could check in early. When we said that we wanted a kingsize bed, we... More

After making reservations in January I was taken aback by several negative reviews, but my wife and I found them to be somewhat exagerated. The lobby needs work (and is gettting it), but our room was in great shape. 12 - foot high ceilings and very nice bathrooms greeted us, as did a mammoth cockroach that was quickly flushed away.... This review was written by a person who was either not accustomed to the simple things of life like hot running water, cleanliness or efficient air conditioning. Because the Hotel Chatue Dupre in many rooms offers none of these, at least during the time we were there. Our room had hot water but the room my brother stayed in did... More

In response to this comment: Since this comment was posted April 15th, the Chateau Dupre Hotel staff have collectively made positive strides in the overall service our guest's experience. Especially in our housekeeping department. And a brand new air conditioning system has been installed, in time for our summer season. More

We arrived on the 17th of March and the hotel staff checked us in knowing that there was no hot water. It was 43 degrees and you could have used a little heat. However, we had neither heat or hot water for two days. I understand that things can happen and am a fairly patient person. However, what increased our... More

We stayed at the Chateau Dupre April 8th - 11th. The location of the hotel is great. French quarter, walking distance to all the attractions, bars, restaurants and not as busy as staying closer to Bourbon Street. The french quarter festival was on April 8th - 10th. Lots of entertainment all over the area. Really great festival to attend. The... More

Simply put, we would not stay at this Hotel again. When we arrived it 3:30 p.m. it was 10 p.m. when we finally got into our room althought they did let us have a room to change in for dinner. They had a college group in the weekend before that tore the place up. The internet didn't work in the... More
