We brought two college tennis teams to New Orleans and wanted to stay in the French Quarter. We booked the St. Pierre many months in advance and received an excellent deal on nine rooms. I couldn't have been happier with our stay at the St. Pierre. The rooms were nice and well-kept. Many are named for famous jazz musicians and... More

Our short stay at the St. Pierre was okay. We arrived late and our check in was done as quickly as possible. The staff were accommodating and friendly. We had trouble with the heat the first night and froze but as soon as we talked to the front desk it was fixed in minutes. The rooms are average but clean.... More

Just a short walk to Bourbon St.- not much in the immediate area otherwise, other than a small convenience/liquor/deli store across the road. This is a sweet little boutique-y hotel. Room(s) were immaculately clean- staff were very pleasant and helpful- breakfast was typical quick items- coffee, toast, eggs, bacon, muffins etc.- the pool nothing to write home about, not that... I am a New Orleans native and visited the city with a first time visitor in February. We decided to stay at this hotel since it was in walking distance to many attractions. The room was quaint and comfortable. We loved the courtyard and fountain in the Burgundy Cottages. The only complaint I had is that the hot water in... More

What an amazingly friendly staff! They were so helpful, and the staff enables check-in to be effortless. The rooms and hotel grounds are quaint and beautiful. There are private courtyards at every turn, and access to downtown was the perfect distance. What a lovely get-away!! We will be going back again soon!

I'm giving this hotel a 4 star because it exceeded our expectations for such a great price. 4 girlfriends and I travelled out of country during Mardi Gras and (of course) we were a little skeptic about staying at the Hotel St. Pierre. The moment we walked into the doors, that skepticism left us. We were greeted by a police... More

I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. My room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful courtyard. There is a nice complimentary breakfast in the morning, and the gentleman who puts it out works hard to make sure things run smoothly. The area was very quiet. I love the old world charm, such a refreshing change... More

I realize this sort of hotel is not everyone's cup of tea, but our room on the outside wall on Dumaine Street allowed every word of several drunken conversations on the sidewalk to be heard at night. Ask for an inside room. The door looked as though a small child could push on it and open it even when it... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
