My wife and I stayed at this property in December 2005 right after Katrina, while the city was still in the throes of a squalid and fetid shock and recovery. The hotel was good then, but has been upgraded and is remarkably nice. The staff could not be more accommodating, from the front desk to the continental breakfast crew (expecially... More

The "newly remodeled" room featured peeling wall paper, a bathroom so tight that they could not put the toilet paper on the roller and a wall air conditioner installed with duct tape. Also missing light bulbs in lamps. Worse yet was the parking, in a dirt lot that once our Ford Fiesta was parked it stayed because the lot was... More

We stayed 3 nights and couldn't have found a better hotel for the location and price. The hotels deceptively large but has a small B&B feel to it with small courtyards and lots of privacy. Although the room was relatively small it served our purposes perfectly. The location is great with only a walk of 2 minutes to Bourbon Street... More

Great service by staff with two pools and free wifi. But the room we got was tiny barely enough room to lay a suit case out. Despite that it was clean and functional and offered free breakfast and small touches like free milk and cookies during the afternoon. Good location for walking around French quarter. Beware the extortionate parking rates... More

Had a nice stay at this wonderful historic hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and quite filling. Cookies and milk were available for an afternoon snack and a bowl of fruit was always present. Also liked that there were numerous water dispensers readily available. The staff was great and very accommodating!

Our stay was disturbing at first because of a group of unruly guests. The staff and manager were understanding and helpful and moved us to a more secluded, charming room and discounted our account. After we moved, we had the nicest vacation anyone could want in the French Quarter. The hotel is close to all venues and on a quite... More

This hotel is a little out of the way- just in the northern end of the french quarter, which was a bonus for me. It was close to walk to everything, yet far enough away to be quiet at night. The room was clean and spacious, just a little bit dated. My favorite part was all the courtyards that the... More

I love history, so it was great to stay in such a historic building, right in the middle of the French Quarter. First of all, I cannot say enough about how much I love the quiet location. It may be near all the craziness of the quarter, but the area itself is peaceful, and quiet. It's like you stepped back... More

I was surprised to learn there are 77 units here and can't vouch for them all as they are all unique. Mine was off the street and very quiet. If you're looking for New Orleans gas lamp charm, you've found it. If your looking for 21st century amenities like elevators and room service, try Canal Street.
