Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. Phillip & David were nothing but hospitable, and we loved every minute with them and in the B&B. We were two college students in the city for the very first time, and Phillip gave us a hand-written map of the area with everything we could have possibly wanted to do or see.... More

We met David as we were walking through the neighborhood and admired his house. We had a long chat about the area and what to do. David was so knowledgeable and friendly. He invited us to come by again for coffee. A couple of days later, we were walking through the neighborhood again and stopped in to see David. He... More

My Husband and I stayed at Royal Street Courtyard for 4 days over New Years! We arranged for Dwayne from Prime Transit meet us at the airport and take us to Royal Street. He was great. As we pulled up Philip came outside on the porch and was waiting to welcome us! He then proceeded to give us our "Map" and... More

This was our second time staying at the Royal Street Courtyard, and it was even more magical this time around. We went five years ago for our honeymoon, and came back to celebrate 5 years. I cannot say enough about the hosts. Philip goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable, and arms you with a detailed map... More

This was the first time for us to visit New Orleans. Phillip and David were able to give us a crash course on what to see, where to eat and where to explore. It was amazing how their guidance helped us create a well rounded weekend, that made us feel like we can't wait to return !

Royal Street Courtyard B&B made my stay in New Orleans for the New Years holiday amazing! Due to unexpected traffic, we arrived well past the check in time. However, Phillip and David waited for us with a smile and even texted us about a parking spot becoming available right in front of the house. Both Phillip and David have a... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our time in New Orleans and staying at the Royal Street Courtyard made a big difference. It's conveniently located just a short walk to the French Quarter (Maybe 15 minutes). The area where it is located is residential with a few nearby shops and restaurants nearby. We felt very safe walking in this neighborhood.... More

Dave and Phillip were wonderful! They helpful with where to go and what to do in New Orleans. Walking distance to the Quarter and Frenchman St. Great morning coffee on the porch where neighbors walk by and wave. It felt like a home.

This choice of lodging made all the difference in the world for our first-time visit to New Orleans. Phillip took the time to give us a one-hour crash course on everything you need to know about the area, including an annotated map with his favorite places to eat, their kitchen hours, and recommended dishes (all were SPOT ON!). We got... More

This place is amazing. It's an experience in New Orleans that you would have to stumble upon. I have taken friends there 5 times within the last year. All say the Same thing.....I want to go back. The owners know the local places to eat and it is a great neighborhood. You want to experience New Orleans? Stay away from... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
