Probably the best thing about Royal Street Courtyard is Philip. He treats you like a friend from the first second and offers excellent advice on things to do and places to go in NOLA. This is the only time I've ever received a hug from the innkeeper upon leaving a B&B -- Philip was a like a great friend in... More

We spent two nights at the Royal Street Courtyard while attending our son's graduation from Tulane University. We appreciated the warm caring manner demonstrated by both of our hosts. Our room was large and comfortable, beautifully decorated. There was an awesome balcony where we sat and enjoyed the cool breeze. This neighborhood is incredibly handy for evening visits to hear... I was not actually a guest with Philip and David, my two friends were. Even so, Philip was above and beyond gracious and welcoming, assisting me with getting a cab to the airport when I was ill with a stomach bug, allowing me to store my luggage during the day before my departure. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in New... More

We arrived at David and Philip's late on the evening, Philip then spent over half an hour showing us maps of his favourite restaurants / bars / places of interest and marked them up in a map for us to take - this was really helpful and showed us a completely different side to New Orleans - they were amazing... I have to be honest; this city was not a place I was looking forward to visiting. I had heard many negative things from friends who had been here, and I’m not a fan of spicy food, heat, humidity, and drunken crowds, so there didn’t appear to be anything that would appeal to me. I am pleased to say that... More

We would not even think of staying anywhere else while in New Orleans. This B&B (or home as we call it) is just a short stroll from the French Quarter, great local restaurants and the music on Freshman Street. You are in a true neighborhood. This home exudes NOLA charm with its antiques, big front porch, ceiling fans and a... More

This was our first time staying at a B&B and while I don't think we'll completely quit hotels, B&Bs will now be a part of my search whenever I'm planning on traveling. Traveling is exciting and fun but sometimes you just want to have a home to go back to during your travels. Royal Street Courtyard was more of an... More

This was our second year in a row for a spring visit to NOLA staying both times at the Royal Street Courtyard for many reasons. The hospitality of Phillip and David, their knowledge of NOLA and what to see and do there, where to eat, their beautiful historic home, the quiet neighborhood, the convenience of the neighborhood, the friendliness of... We thank Phillip for his friendly welcome to New Orleans and guiding us with a brief overview of the area and map with his pointers illustrated on it. We thank David for his morning conversation getting us up with great coffee and fresh fruit and a Danish or bagel to get you on your way. Stories about the local history... More
