My fiancé and I had an unforgettable and fun stay at La Dauphine B&B Memorial Day wknd. Ray and Kim were very informative and welcoming. It was in a safe neighborhood, very close to a bike rental shop and Frenchmen Street. You can walk everywhere. We loved our stay!!

This was our second trip to La Dauphine. We stayed for 4 days this time. This place is perfect for people who just want to have a nice, clean and quiet place to stay at night while being out visiting during the day. The location is great being a walking distance from the French Quarter. We enjoyed staying outside on... More

Spent 5 very comfortable nights at this friendly and funky Marigny Bed and Breakfast recently. The house is very authentic New Orleans shotgun style with shabby chic rooms that are quite comfortable if you have an open mind for that sort of travel. The managing owner Ray is very open, friendly, full of useful advise, and absolutely a great host.... More

We had a wonderful experience at LaDauphine on our first trip to New Orleans. Ray and Kim provided most pleasant accommodations for a long weekend. We were there for the Blues and BBQ Festival. Ray provided very important directions, transportation advice, and recommendations for dining. Frenchmen Street has developed into an attractive alternative to the crowded and touristy Bourbon Street.... More

Ray is the best host possible, he is a real sweetie, always there to help out the weary traveller. La Dauphine is the only place to stay in New Orleans! It's clean and comfortable, and very stylish. Warm and inviting after a hard day at a festival or sightseeing. La Dauphine is a home away from Home. We look forward... More

We've been staying with Ray and Kim at La Dauphine for seven or eight years. It's always a pleasant experience with warm hospitality and great amenities. This is a typical ante vellum New Orleans home that has been turned into a comfortable B&B. It's located 2 1/2 block from the Frenchman Street which is where locals go for a fun.... More

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at La Dauphine for 7 days: we loved it. Very simple but with everything you need. Clean room, with bathroom and shower cabin in the room. In the morning, excellent coffee and simple breakfast items were available: we had our coffee in the little private courtyard. The host gave us instructions about safety, where... More

La Dauphine is described on its website as a “laid back guest house for the budget-minded traveler,” and that is indeed true. We have been staying at La Dauphine during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival every year since 2007 and each year when we arrive we feel like we’ve come back home. Ray (and Kim) are welcoming and... More

My husband found La Dauphine and Ray and Kim couldn't have been more congenial hosts. Our flight was 4 hours late, getting us in after 1:00 a.m., but Ray snoozed on the couch in the front room and greeted us with nothing but good grace and charm. Our room was very comfy and we loved having breakfast in the garden,... More

Ray and Kim have nailed the details at La Dauphine - the bed linens and towels were nicer than I have at home! The wi-fi connection was consistent and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. We stayed in the Matisse room and I've rarely felt so instantly at ease in a space. We're accustomed to staying in other parts of New... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
