We stayed five nights in the Clarence Frogman Henry room. You really need five nights in New Orleans, there is so much to do. The accommodations were lovely and very convenient. Kevin recommended we attend a local street fair. I am so glad we listened. The music was excellent. It was my favorite part of the trip. This is a... More

House of the Rising Sun was a perfect place to stay during our 5 day vacation. New Orleans is filled with with many things to experience ...music, food, history...and in June it is sooo hot and humid! We were so happy to be staying at the peaceful House of the rising Sun in Algiers Point. The air conditioning and ceiling... More

Had an amazing time in New Orleans, staying at House of the Rising Sun B&B. It was just a short ferry ride to the centre of the city (only $2 each way) made it an ideal location, close enough to enjoy the cities entertainment and peaceful enough in Algiers point not to be bothered by noise. We were last here... More

We stayed 2 nights - New Orleans' best kept secret! What you get for the price is unbeatable. We stayed in the Memphis Minnie room, and it was beautiful. The bathroom was convenient and private. We were an easy walk from the ferry, which cost $2 for a one-way trip (only takes exact change) and drops you off right in... More

We stayed 2 nights here. Kevin (the proprietor) was very accommodating. The "red" room was as advertised, and did not disappoint. Daily breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, tea or coffee. Fresh croissants from a local bakery Sunday morning of our stay. The location is a short walk from the ferry to Canal Street. Although the ferry crossings are limited the... More

My husband and I stayed here two nights for our honeymoon last year and loved it so much, we came back to stay five nights for our one-year anniversary. The house is in the beautiful historic neighborhood of Algiers Point, just a ferry ride from the French Quarter, and is cozy and welcoming inside and out. Our bedroom and bathroom... More

Kevin and Wendy have truly created the most home-like environment away from home I could have imagined for a vacation. I am not normally someone who likes to travel, but having the ability to come back to their cozy house in Algiers after a day of exploring New Orleans truly feels like coming home after being out for the day.... Last came to New Orleans 15 years ago, came this time to celebrate our 60th birthdays and 40th wedding anniversary! Had the most wonderful time, stayed with cockney Kevin and Cajun Wendy at the House of the Rising Sun B&B! Their house was a delight, everything you could possibly want, so comfortable. Their company, amazing, pointed us in the right... More

This is a lovely B&B. All other reviews are accurate with regard to hospitality, food, room comfort, etc. This is a fun and funky place, which was just what we were looking for after a few days in a stuffy downtown hotel. Kevin does a nice, healthy breakfast. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The room and bathroom was very... More

Many thanks for the wonderful review!! As the RTA are still new owners of the ferry, they are still trying to getting the best service possible for us. With two new boats on the horizon (no pun intended) we hope for an extended service some time soon. There is always a bus, cab or guests' cars to get to the... More
