You will find no better deal in all of New Orleans. Nestled in the quiet neighborhood of Algiers Point, this clean and comfy home is only a short ferry ride to downtown, and an inexpensive cab ride back if you stay out after the ferry stops. Very friendly owner and dog Boudin.

My wife and I traveled to NOLA for a short visit in March and found House of the Rising Sun B&B on tripadvisor. We travel frequently due to family and working for an airline. We were very impressed how nice this B&B was. Quiet neighborhood, good restaurants & bars within walking distance as is a short ferry ride across the... More

The house is very comfortable, and Kevin makes one feel very at ease and at home. Wonderful swings on the front and back porch. Boudin the Wonder Dog truly is such!! Kept us company on the back porch! A great healthy breakfast to get you going ! Algiers is a great quiet and historic neighborhood just a 5 minute ferry... More

This place is a little gem at Algiers point. The house is located in a historic neighborhood with many old well-kept houses. 5-7 minute walk to the ferry that takes you to the Western edge of the French Quarter in 5 minutes. Here there is access to 5 tram lines at very reasonable prices. The house has three bedrooms each... More

We visited New Orleans for the first time last week, and decided to go the B&B route for a change. (We were in town for Wrestlemania XXX, but took the first half of the week to explore the city for ourselves without the hordes of wrestling fans!) I found House of the Rising sun here on Trip Advisor, and was... More

Many thanks for your wonderful review and glad you enjoyed our B&B and neighborhood. Your comments of the ferries are a little misleading, though. They have just been taken over by the (RTA) Regional Transit Authority, who are still finding their feet, and have said they will put the times back to 10pm soon. In fact this weekend they are... House of the Rising Sun is located conveniently across the Mississippi from the French Quarter of New Orleans. I believe the ferry ride took only about 10 minutes. The area seemed safe and street parking was easy to find. The room was clean, the house was quiet and breakfast was very good. The only drawback I would mention is that... More

Many thanks for the wonderful review! As for the church bells at 8am....can't do much about those. They are four blocks away and you are the first person in 15 years ever to mention them. We don't notice them any more but most people enjoy them. At least we don't live next door to an all-night bar :-) More

We spent 7 nights with Kevin and Wendy. Kevin is a fabulous host who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. In addition, free of charge, he entertained us with stories of his life, both current and in the past. I truly think he should write a book. There is a great back porch for chatting... More

Kevin's establishment is more than a business. It's a home, he treats it as such and the charm of it shows. He greeted me with a beer and some great information. Watch the ferry schedule closely and if you stay out past 8pm you will surely be getting a $20 dollar cab right back. Still well worth the price as... More

We were staying in New Orleans just after Mardi Gras, and as we spent a lot of time walking and sightseeing in the city, we were grateful for hopping over on the ferry for more peaceful evenings! The House of the Rising Sun was very clean, with a great healthy breakfast and we were grateful for Kevin and Wendy's local... More
