This was a great find. First, the BnB helps arrange transportation to and from the airport and our driver, Stanley, was simply amazing. Helpful, genuine and efficient. Just a nice person all around. The actually BnB is in a perfect location, a bit removed from the the French Quarter but accessible and walk-able to everything. It is a beautiful older... More

Just got back from a long weekend with my good friend, & we could not be more delighted with our stay. From the witty, helpful advance guidance to their provision of a fantastic driver, Stanley, who was a one-man welcome center to this fabulous city, to the quirky & exquisite place itself. The Banana Courtyard is a few blocks away... More

We so appreciate your review, as we know your compliments come from the heart! Nobody has ever called us a "delicious quirk-fest" before, but we think it really tells people the kind of experience they will have when they stay with us. We want to share with our guests what we love best about New Orleans; whether it's a warm... More

We took a short trip to NOLA over a long weekend before Mardi Gras. Airfare was low so we spent a bit on an authentic B&B. First, a caution, if you are relying on their car service to pick you up, have a backup plan. We followed Mary's (the proprietor) instructions and texted the car service upon touchdown. He indicated... More

Like you are doing now, I checked with trip advisor prior to making a booking and although I read some poor reviews most seemed good. I had booked in for a 3 day visit in the balcony room and was initially attracted by the "old world" charm, how wrong was I, to start with the neighbourhood it's in is a... More

The staff was amazing. They fixed an error they made and had us feeling like they cared. This place is a lil far from everything but we didn't mind walking. The beds were horrible and the rooms were not really clean. It was an experience but next time I will stay in a hotel.

Nice place. 1st time in New Orleans. Little too far from most of the action. .Loved Buffas! Down the road & nice people. So we're told, don't go to the right on Rampart. B & B! Should have a hot breakfast, and with out having to call 1/2 hour. Before. ...All u get is coffee, juice and toast. Price is... More

First, the good. Your hosts are marvelous people, and due every rave in these reviews. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and you're in a good location to appreciate NOLA for what NOLA is. The neutral... It is NOT your hosts' fault, but getting in and out with a car, especially at night, is a bear. Right now, Rampart is... More

Thanks for giving us feedback on your recent stay. We take your comments seriously. For instance, your idea to have lighted numbers in front of the B and B is a great one that we may implement in the near future. We spent four days at the Banana Courtyard Bed & Breakfast & wish we could have stayed longer. This was NOT a typical hotel stay. The staff made arrangements for our airport pickup & drop-off & Mr. Hugh gave us maps & an "orientation" when we arrived so we could familiarize ourselves with our location, places to visit, recommended restaurants,... Very welcoming! Tanya was the best! If you needed anything she was happy to get it for you! We had the Cajun room on the balcony, it was very clean and quite. I loved all the fun things around the house to look at. Close to everything. Felt very safe to walk around. I will definitely stay there again!!!

The first time Sunshine and visited New Orleans, I was between jobs, and She just getting out of a bad marriage. We threw caution to the wind, rode my Honda VTX 2000 miles to New Orleans, and stayed at the 1870 Banana Courtyard in the first of our many adventures. Who would have though it would be 13 years until... More

Dear KingGypsy, In this day of artificial everything, big box stores, mega-malls and mega-houses, it's rare to find someone who puts into words so perfectly what is so very special about this wonderful place where we live. Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
