Banana Courtyard is exactly as advertised: full of character! A charming old house filled with an eclectic mix of furniture and curios. You could spend an afternoon wandering through the front corridor alone. Our room (Cannonball Room) was quite large, but with a very high bed, smaller cot and couch in the room, there was not too much floor space... More

First off I was so shocked I called Trip Advisor and found out that I could write a review without staying at a property predicated on customer service. All I can do is say WATCH OUT! We are driving in the French Quarter and heard about his B&B on the corner of Esplanade and Rampart. A potentially sketchy area but... More

Right from the start Mary & Hugh Ramsey (owners) made me feel like I just walked into my own home. The moment I walked into the front gate, ,Mary met me there and welcomed me into this wonderful B & B and I felt like I was home. Sitting at the dining room table with Hugh going over the map... More

Staying at the banana courtyard was a surprise from my husband for my 50th birthday. (This was about a year ago). It was fabulous! We had a balcony room and thoroughly enjoyed our outside room....preferred it to being inside. Mary and Hugh were very hospitable and helpful. We stayed about 4 days, parked the car the first day, and walked... More

This place was fun and funky. It is on the edge of the French Quarter but also near Frenchmen's Street. It is a little unusual. Not your run of the mill. Pickup from the airport was great and the owners and staff were very helpful! Lots of antiques....super cute and quaint.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Banana Courtyard. Excellent location, wonderful hospitality and the best front porch for relaxing on a swing. The tour of the area was very helpful and we were able to ask all our questions. We stayed in the front Cannonball room which wS very pleasant, though the antique bed is quite high, so... More

We stayed for two nights in the Balcony room and thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't think of anything negative about the Banana Courtyard, however, like other reviewers have mentioned, if you're looking for a ritzy 5-star hotel experience, you might want to look into different accommodations. If you want an authentic New Orleans experience, this is the place to stay.... More

We spend here for 3 nights as a long weekend and did not enjoyed it that much. We had balcony room which needs to have serious maintenance to do. Air condition was so noisy that it cannot be kept running during the night and bathroom floor was broken. It was fixed by putting carpet top of it. Bed mattress was... More

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel experience this is not where you want to stay but it has a great home feel and Hugh, Mary, and Gerald, are great hosts. The night we arrived Hugh and Mary were out but they called us in advance to let us know Gerald would take care of us in their... More

In one word? Fantastic! All the glowing reviews are right. Beautiful house, great (and safe) location, and you can't beat the price. Mary and Hugh are wonderful hosts, extremely helpful, and you can definitely tell they love having a B&B. Upon arrival, Mary offered us complimentary drinks (wine, soda, beer) and went over a detailed map of the area so... More
