My husband and I spent Halloween and my birthday here this year for an amazing week . We where made to feel like one of the family, loved the ambiance, the staff and everything about the Banana Courtyard. So close to everything, great information and history told by Hugh, Mary and others. This was our first time to New Orleans... More

We were 3 couples who had the 3 Balcony Rooms over the Christmas Holiday. Lovely rooms and tasty breakfast. Hugh and Mary were the best hosts, and we definitely felt at home. Close to the French Quarter, easy walk, lots to see. We had a very special Christmas. Thanks so much!

I spent 4 nights there at Christmas and had a wonderful time. Hugh and Mary were very helpful and accommodating. My room was clean and they had free wi-fi. I felt safe there and safety is an issue to me in NOLA. I liked the breakfast system, and the refreshments that were there for guests to have all during the... More

My husband and I spent 4 days in New Orleans. We chose the Banana Courtyard for our stay. We enjoyed the location very much. It is on the edge of the French Quarter and an easy walk into the attractions. We like to walk and found it a nice distance, about 10-20 minutes to parts of the French Quarter and... More

HEARTFELT thanks from Mary and Hugh: Gee. Don't know where to start to thank you for such a wonderful review, with all the comments that will help other potential guests know what to expect. There are some folks that prefer ''cookie cutter'' places, and your comments will help steer guests to us who enjoy what we have to offer. Am... More

Mary and Hugh are wonderful folks! They are very helpful and sweet. Breakfast is delicious and very relaxing. We were there over the Christmas Holiday and had great time. We had the three balcony rooms and loved it! Definitely would recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone. Thanks for making our Christmas vacation a success.

Perfect for exploring the French Quarter, and Frenchmen Street! Mary gave us a great orientation when we arrived, and then we were off and running! Didn't need a car; just walked everywhere. Our room (the Mardi Gras room) was perfect for the 2 of us. Shower; no bath tub. Great value for money!

We stayed here for a Mother/Daughter weekend and I loved it. You really get to see old time New Orleans. The house has great history and Mrs. Mary was so helpful. We didn't eat there, instead preferring to visit in the Quarter and eat there. I would stay here again.

We were so glad to that you had a good time during your recent trip to New Orleans and were able to stay in our B & B. We have had many guests who visit us for a variety of reasons, like: birthdays, family reunions, mini-vacations, weddings, anniversaries, bachelor parties or girls' nites out. But whatever the reason, we try... More

My husband loved this place..............all the memorabilia was fascinating & we both felt it was perfect to capture the essence of New Orleans. I think I had too high expectations after reading previous reviews - it was a little cluttered, worn & needing a few basic upgrades. The continental breakfast was adequate, owners and staff very friendly & the location... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our B & B. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us & felt that we were able to capture the "authentic" New Orleans for you. We are currently working on one of our rooms to make that experience even better. As you said, our B & B may not be... More

I recently stayed at Banana Courtyard and it was exactly as it says on the tin! Spent ages just wandering around looking at all the incredible phototgraphs, paintings and memorabilia. I had the Carriage room with en suite, which was large and comfortable. It was a shame not to see the courtyard being used by other residents I seemed to... More

We appreciate your comments and are glad that you found our B & B homey and welcoming. We try very hard to make all of our guests feel like "locals"--that includes walking around the French Quarter, as most residents do. We understand about your safety concerns, especially when traveling as a single woman. We want to stress again, as we... More

Banana Courtyard is exactly as advertised: full of character! A charming old house filled with an eclectic mix of furniture and curios. You could spend an afternoon wandering through the front corridor alone. Our room (Cannonball Room) was quite large, but with a very high bed, smaller cot and couch in the room, there was not too much floor space... More
