We thought this resort is extremely close to almost everything you wan to see in New Orleans , especially with th trolley within a block and the transfer trolley one two blocks away.. The transfer at St Charles will run you all the way to the end and get off and back on to return at this came stop. Great... More

If you want a lot of amenities find a large hotel. This place is small quiet and rustic. We were on the second floor living room with kitchenette.. micro wave two burner cook top coffe maker toaster and a full size fridge. Bath in the same floor spiral staircase to the loft bedroom. Room is clean and comfortable. Spiral staircase... More

We stayed at the Maison Pierre Lafitte as a time share trade and were pleasantly suprised. We had a 2 bedroom/1 bath with kitchen/livingroom on the third floor. The unit was not fancy, but clean and comfortable. We had a minor complaint (sound on the cable tv) which was addressed immediately. The location across Canal St. from the streetcar line... More

Our room on the third floor was quiet and comfortable. The reproduction furnishings were generally in keeping with the period feel of the hotel. Loved the marble bathroom. Location was just off Canal, close to streetcars and Bourbon. We walked to the French Quarter/Bourbon St., the French Market, Harrah's, convention centre, Riverwalk Outlet Mall, and Superdome, all with no difficulty.... More

My stay here started off very badly. There is No parking for check in. For some inexplicable reason the have antique cars blocking the front entrance. I tried to squeeze in front of those old cars but I got a parking ticket. The have no one manning the front desk. You have to open a combination lock on the door... More

Thank you for your review on the Maison Pierre Lafitte! We have taken your comments and reviewed them with management. Thank you for addressing your concerns with us! We first want to apologize for the parking. There is a parking garage across the street that our front desk does point towards. The area in front of our hotel is a... More

This hotel is located on Canal Street right at the edge of the French Quarter. It's a small little boutique hotel with a wonderful, friendly staff. The rooms were clean, safe, and definitely a step back in time. We stayed on the third floor in the rooms that were set up like converted condos (with a living area, kitchenette, separate... More

after a grueling trip from TX we were so pleased to see the hotel as depicted and in a wonderful safe location.we were met by Michael who was very friendly(sympathetic!)& helpful at the late hour we arrived. Hubby got car parked across the street(quite reasonable at $20.00/day) while I quizzed Micheal about the streetcar & general info. When we got... More

Close to about everything in NO.Walk to WWII Museum and French Quarter was easy. The people overall in New Orleans were very friendly. We had extra family along on this trip and used two rooms... On the edge of the Quarter and close to everything N.O. ! In the same two block area with many of the GREAT EXPENSIVE hotels of N.O. Staff right out of a 1940's (or 1970"s) novel. Laid back---we kept waiting for Peter Lorre to walk in or Bogart to invite us into their Bar for a drink ! Pretty sure... More

Old, unit (304, I think?) could be updated. The price seemed like a good deal when we were looking for places to stay, and we're not high-maintenance people so location was more important than luxury. Perfect location for us, easy walk to Bourbon but also to the start of the 5k over closer to the park. Negatives: no parking included... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
