Stayed five nights in the Chez Palmiers, an excellent B and B in the perfect location. Schuyler Hoffman and David Peterson have assembled a home in which each spacious room contains its own unique arrangement of furnishings, tastefully put together to make for a comfy, homely feel. Lovely breakfasts and rooms that make you want to put up your feet... More

We found this B & B to be very well placed for visiting so many places in lovely New Orleans. They were both very helpful and understanding. We arrived by train which was delayed 9 hours but Schuyler just hung on in there waiting for us to arrive - about midnight. Then, although breakfast is normally served from 8.30 we... More

We had a couple of wonderful days in New Orleans and at Chez Palmiers. The room(s) were great, breakfast excellent and the location is perfect but the main thing is the hospitality. Thanks to hosts Schuyler & David!

Schulyer and David were fantastic hosts - they were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The B&B is in a great location, and the rooms are clean and have a ton of character. While the Loft Room gets a little warm in summer, it has a ton of space. I'd stay here again without question!

We had wanted to do a long weekend in New Orleans for quite some time and a few weeks ago eventually fulfilled that desire. In looking at places to stay, it was obvious the French Quarter was both too expensive for us and provided more of a party atmosphere. We enjoy B&B's and chose next door Faubourg Marigny as a... All you want in a B&B is what you find at Chez Palmiers. Schuyler and David are just excellent hosts. They were discrete and available at the same time. They provided us with great recommandations for bars and places to discover. In a 15 minute walking distance we were in the heart of the French Quarter with everything that it... More

My sister and brother-in-law from the Eastern Shore of Virginia, along with our best friends from Columbia, Missouri and my husband and I checked into the Chez Palmiers Bed and Breakfast on June 1st and checked out on June 3rd, 2015. We could not have asked for better accommodations and location, i.e. 2 blocks from Bourbon Street. Schuyler and David... More

We stayed three nights at Chez Palmiers and every minute was a delight. Schuyler was an excellent host and shared his knowledge of the area with our party. Rooms were comfortable and the local area is just far enough from the French Quarter that you want to explore the area instead of head straight for the bar. Staying at a... More

We just returned from our short trip to New Orleans and it was awesome! We stayed at Chez Palmiers Bed and Breakfast. When we arrived we were a bit hesitant on the location (seemed a bit sketchy), however, once we entered the B&B, our fears quickly diminished. David and Schuyler were so welcoming and friendly. Not only were they very... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
