This was our second trip to Creole Inn. We stayed in the upstairs 2br suite this time and it was wonderful. As usual, Kim was amazing. We love coming there and feeling like family. This Inn is clean, safe, convenient and the price is just right. Until next time...

Do not go here expecting xyz star hotel . Kim the hostess was awesome and full of useful info. Bed in the cowboy room comfortable however the animal on the wall just might be shedding hair. Shower was good and I felt safe here. When I return in two years will definitely stay here again,I guess that's a good review... More

This was our seventh visit in under 4 years, since Sept 2012, so the place must have something going for it . . .? We're in love with New Orleans, and love that this place is oh-so handy as a base, for visiting our friends, for exploring our old haunts and some new ones too. On staying here over the... More

We have stayed at the historic creole inn a total of three times. We will keep coming back, mostly due to the amazing hosts Kim and Charlie. They are professional, knowledgeable, gracious, hardworking and will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. The hotel is old but well kept. Everything is clean and works. The courtyard is a beautiful relaxing... More

this was our third time at the creole inn and it's still as fantastic as ever. it's very no frills but the bed is like a cloud with the memory foam mattress in the cowboy room and the inn keepers are really what make us keep returning. it's a great place in a fantastic location if you're looking to explore... Creole Inn is a historical house, they said about 170 years old. Well it looked it. Any charm it may have had was taken away by filthy curb appeal. The whole place could have used a good pressure wash and scrubbing. We were greeted by a woman who may have been a drill sargeant in a past life. Don't try... More

This place is a terrific find for a very low rate. No frills - but the room we stayed in was clean and comfy and the owners were lovely and very helpful to us. The neighborhood is very fun and interesting - it's walkable to both the main attractions of the French Quarter and feels safe, but it's also walkable... More

Okay, so first off, this place is in a great location, between the French Quarter and Bywater, in the neighborhood of Marigny (pronounced Mare-in-ee). It's about a half hour walk to the French Quarter, but it's a beautiful walk. And it's an easy bus ride along St. Claude/Rampart St. We absolutely loved the room and the owners. They were extremely... More

If you are looking for non-corporate slightly unique this is your place. We had the cowboy room, which was perfect for my mom and I. We had our own room, but shared the bath. There was even a hide-a-bed for those who need more beds. My 70+ mom was able to walk to all the highlights from this house. We... More

I went there with my husband's band, The Oski Foundation, to play several gigs there. The inn was clean, very affordable (especially on a musician's budget!), ten minutes away from Frenchman Street by foot in the French Quarter, and local bars and restaurants that locals frequent. The staff were phenomenal and friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We had... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
