Just returned from a 4 day stay at the Lookout. This is my 3rd time to stay there and will continue to visit Lisa and John on every trip I make to New Orleans. I came with a group of friends and we had 3 of the 4 suites. The rooms, pool, courtyard and owners were the best. Since we... More

I just got back from one amazing weekend w/ 16 guys all throwing down at The Lookout for 3 nights. I can safely say that house has its place as one of my favorite places EVER.. The saltwater pool out back and the hot tub with a beautifully tropical-landscaped back yard make you feel like you've seriously escaped to the... More

We are locals who like to "vacation" in our own city. We loved this place! The pool and hot tub are an awesome +. We had a totally secluded oasis experience (sans suits ;). We wandered the Bywater and found quite a few little places that we'd never heard of. Coffea is not too far and we had a great... More

I can't tell you what a great place this was to stay. More than we expected!! I was traveling with 2 girlfriends, my husband and our 2 children and this place was perfect. The owners, Lisa and John were so very cool and have really done this place up right. The rooms are awesome, even cooler than the website. The... More

My boyfriend and I spent a lovely weekend at the Lookout. Lisa and John were excellent hosts, and we had a great time hanging out with them at nearby bar Vaughn's. The Bollywood room is an orientalist's delight, all leopard spots and fat bellied Buddhas. Everything about the Inn was great, and we loved staying in the Bywater. We will... More

A charming, hidden gem of an Inn in one of the most interesting and historic parts of town. Hot tub, pool, sheltered patio with trees and fenced in yard; elaborate and large rooms that are really great for themes, fun couples, or just regular groups. 2 blocks away is Vaughn's, which has some of the best local bands south of... First, let me say that Lisa and John - the proprietors - are fantastic. They are easily the warmest, most laid-back hosts I have encountered anywhere in my travels. They really made everyone in our party feel at home (we rented out the entire house). They were around when we needed them, disappeared when we didn't, and hung out with... More

I will certainly stay again but I wont 3 years between visits. More

I tell you riding through New Orleans and the neighborhood leading up to the house was a little scary but don’t be swayed. It ended up being in a decent area and the house was amazing. 4 rooms with full bathrooms and each decorated to a theme. Refrigerators and microwaves were also provided so we could bring our own food.... More

Actually it was 5am, and they disturbed my next-door neighbor, and he was yelling at them. I didn't make them go inside or anything, they just had to stop yelling in between the two houses. We started a new policy now, we tell parties not to yell until they get in the back yard, cause our neighbor sleeps in the... More
