Have been staying at this B&B for at least a decade now, generally when visiting N.O. for leisure travel (i.e. on my dime). Have interacted with different managers (and their pets) over the years and stayed in at least 3 of their rooms. My wife and I were here together just a few weeks back. I enjoy the differences, quirks... More

Stayed at the Lions Inn 29th of November. The backyard and the pool is a tropical heaven. Rooms are clean and well put together. Walking distance to the fun places in the French Quarter. Continental breakfast is amazing.....

We had three great nights at this wonderful B&B. The owner is great and the rooms were perfect and so also the pool area. The location was also great, we walked to Frenchmen street and there was a café around the corner. The best of times and we would absolutely stay here again! Thanks to Ed from the Swedish families

For two 70 year old travelers this B&B was an amazing find, reasonably priced (excellent value for the $), well run, clean and quiet (there was occasional construction nearby; and there is a train that comes through fairly frequently whistling. If you are a really light sleeper you might be awakened; we were not). The owner, Ed, is very unobtrusive... More

This was a great placer for our first time exploring New Orleans. We stayed in room number 1, which looks out on the pool and garden, and we were quite comfortable. It's not a huge room, but how much room do you need? The location was great -- only five or six blocks from Frenchmen Street and maybe eight blocks... More

This place has it all: convenient location to French Quarter and Frenchmen Street, variety of room options, a very kind and hospitable host, and a tropical paradise in the backyard for relaxing. Plus there are a variety of breakfast options to choose from before you go on your adventure, with daily wine and cheese hour. We stayed in Room C... More

This place was fantastic and I would definitely stay here again. Our room was beautiful and the garden/pool area was stunning. We drove and never had any problems with street parking. We did a lot of walking too with no problems. Just a warning that the Sun Room is close to the outdoor table for breakfast. We only had an... More

My husband and I stayed here for a family wedding and found the accommodations comfortable and hospitable for a very reasonable price. We regretted we didn't have more time to sit outside in the peaceful oasis, and we really appreciated their willingness to adjust to some weird scheduling things on our part. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here 1st of October. Couldn't be any better, the location, the property, the staff and the pool. Everything is beyond what you would expect in a B & B. They have a well stocked kitchen with whatever you want for breakfast as well as wine and cheese in the evening. I would recommend this place to anyone who is... More

Amazing experience!!!!! Doug the manager was extremely friendly and accommodating! The room was very clean, quiet, and lovely. The backyard was a mini paradise of a fish pond, jacuzzi, and a perfectly heated pool. The free bike rental saved my boyfriend and I a lot of money as the rates around the area in the bike shops were ~$20/day. The... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
