I went to this hotel very skeptically because of previous reviews, but I must say i was very positively impressed. I must be clear, the common areas are not as suitable as the room, but for what I saw the hotel is trying to work on them. It was a cozy room! I would very much like to return.

This place is a little bizarre. We had a two bedroom two bath set up, kind of like two apartments connected. It was old, slightly run down and pretty dirty. The maid came in every day but she didn't do much except to drop off towels. The floor needed vacuuming when we got there and they never vacuumed while we... More

This is in an old historic building, renovated into comfortable and convenient rooms. (We stayed in Room 202.) It's only a ten minute walk to the French Quarter, and also close to street car lines. If you want the Ritz, don't stay here. I was apprehensive after reading other reviews, but it turned out great for us. We liked it... More

This quaint hotel, part of which dates back to the 1800's, is ideally located for all kinds of activities in New Orleans. It's two and a half short blocks from the French Quarter (without the noise), Southwest Rep Theatre and the Street Cars, around the corner from the huge Harrah's Casino and a couple of blocks from the Riverwalk Street... We can't understand the previous reviews. We've stayed in New Orleans many times and are most impressed with de L'eau Vive. Derrick, a wonderful staff member met us at the curb and helped us with our bags as well as helped my husband with his parking spot. Our suite was very spacious and wonderfully decorated New Orleans style. The pool... More

Space is such a premium commodity in New Orleans, it was a joy to have this three bedroom time share unit to spread out in. We traded our time share week for it. We had a huge common area that included a full kitchen, dining area and living area with large picture windows. Three smaller bedrooms and two baths each... More

Stayed here with a friends timeshare the first thing waking in the furniture in the lobby was mix matched and dirty, you could see head prints on the furniture, had not been cleaned in years. Once in the "suite" two bedrooms one TV in the living area. The table in the living area had duck tape on it. The Jacuzzi... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel de L'Eau Vive from May 16-23, 2014. We were very disappointed. The accommodation was a 2 level, with very uncomfortable stairs. We were in the annex building with construction going on next door. We were awakened each morning a little before 7 AM. We had jacuzzi tubs in both bathrooms, but they... More

Okay, so it's a converted old building and one expects things like oddly placed switches, furniture and doors. There is, however, no excuse for a mattress that is completely broken down not being replaced. I ended up taking the mattress out of the sofa bad and sleeping on the floor, my back just couldn't take it. The linens were stained... More
