We just returned from a week at l'Hotel de L'Eau Vive. We stayed on the second floor, in a two bedroom unit. The layout was odd, with the kitchen and bathroom in the middle. There was an enormous jacuzzi-style bathtub. The kitchen refrigerator was small, but the kitchen had everything we needed. The decor is fairly basic, but it was... more

Our first time to New Orleans was made great in part to our hotel. It is what we needed for a week sans kids or car. Our room was on the first floor in the front of the building. It was a little noisey but only in the living room. The bedroom was a comfortable cave. There was only 1... more

The location is great because you’re a few blocks from the French Quarter, RiverWalk, and Harrah’s!! We had 6 women in the 3 bedroom timeshare, with some of us staying for the entire week. Most of the staff was very enthusiastic, competent, accommodating and super nice! There were a few exceptions to this, including the cleaning staff. While daily cleaning... more

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. After reading some very negative reviews, we were apprehensive. The suite was clean, with new furniture, carpet and fresh paint. The original brick and terracotta tiles added charm. The two bedroom suite had a full living room, bath and kitchen. We were able to walk to all of our destinations. The staff was friendly,... more

I had to go to New Orleans on business. I booked my trip through my travel agent. The location was in walking distance to my conference. I had the best time. This is truly a great city to visit. The next time I visit will be with my family. The Hotel is acutally ideal for families. The rooms are spacious... more

My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Hotel de L'Eau Vive. A quick review of the positives: friendly front desk staff who were very helpful; close to the French Quarter; Canal Street mall, Harrah's, Riverfront - we walked everywhere (don't bother renting a car - parking is very expensive). Negatives: The bathroom was in major need of... more

We traded our timeshare thru Interval International (II) based on II's website info on this hotel. We were very apprehensive after reading the initial reviews on TripAdvisor and happy to see some subsequent positive reviews before our trip. I e-mailed the hotel a week before our arrival to confirm our reservations and got an immediate e-mail confirmation reply from Fanci!... more

I don't know what's with the negative reviews, this is an old building with "Old New Orleans Charm" and the convenience of being located within walking distance or trolley ride of a week plus of activities. They must have been written by people with limited traveling experience. I try to get there at least every other year and never have... more

After finding this 5 Star Hotel for a timeshare exchange, I read the reviews on Tripadvisor.com. I was concerned as most of the reviews were negative so I called the hotel directly and asked for the manager. I was told there was no manager on duty at this time so I asked the person for their opinion of the reviews... more
