It was Mardigras and exiting to be there at this time of the year. We were delighted about the balcony! the breakfast keept us going until supper. The room and bed was OK. It was one of the cheapest room at Mardigras-time in New Orleans as all other places dubbled or trippled their charge. more

My husband and I booked 4 nights along with another couple at the guesthouse. We would say that the pictures were pretty accurate on their website except for the fact that the drapes were stained from rain dripping in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. We felt that they were lacking enough linens (washcloths to be exact). Lynn, who worked as waitress... more

This place was very amazing. The people were very kind and up to speed on things. The only problems I had with the place was trouble getting towels replaced. Other than that great place and wonderful location. The breakfast....man, absolutely amazing. more

This place looks shady and a little bit sketch on the outside, but once you get inside and up the stairs, you will find a very "home away from home" feel to it. Its not your regular hotel/motel...it has its own decorative crazy statues to it, along with kind of...an exotic feel to it. Get ready to enjoy a great... more

This place is an outstanding place to stay at. it is in good walking distance from all of the major site in the French Quarter. In the morning the owner are friendly and will make one of the best breakfasts that you can find in the entire city. The service that you get is excellent and I would high recommend... more

Schiros is a really nice B&B. I took 11 people down there during Mardi Gras 2007, rented the whole place and had a blast! If you have never been to New Orleans before, This is the place to go. Forget the Days Inn, or some other cookie cutter place. This place is UNIQUE. First of all, It is a local... more

Don't be fooled by the pictures on their Web site! This is not a lovely b&b that offers what they say they offer. A complumentary drink? We paid for ours. A breakfast at 9 in the morning? Sorry, we don't have any left anymore, but you can grap some soda and a muffin from our convenient store. A good night's... more

We booked here for three nights following the American Library Association conference in 2006. The neighborhood has changed a lot since Katrina (the city is emptier, for one thing, which makes the hood more vulnerable)--a couple of people warned us about walking here as two women. We found another place and called the Balcony to cancel our reservation, assuming we'd... more

Our reservations were made about a month in advance. We requested the suite because we were two mothers taking our daughters on vacation. The owner, Zac, phoned to confirm reservations and to say the sofa bed, (the extra bed we were counting on) had been broken, but hoped to have it replaced by the time of our arrival. When we... more
