Balcony Guest House has a very unique atmosphere and character. My boyfriend and I stayed there for four nights, and our stay in New Orleans wouldn't be the same if we chose a different hotel. The view from our rooms was amazing and the location is just perfect. It is a walking distance away from French Quarter and Frenchman street,... More

I was LUCKY enough to have found this place last minute! I booked our room 1 hour before we got to New Orleans! The place was so neat and clean with great old school charm in the decor and woodwork. The restaurant downstairs offered a free drink at check in. The price was unbeatable and included breakfast! The waiter (I... More

Nice little rooms, they were a perfect place if you just needed a place to lay your head, get changed. Perfect for a couples getaway. Could use some updates but we loved it. Great people in a great location. We would definitely stay there again.

Great price, great location. I enjoyed having coffee or drinks from downstairs on the balcony. They even had kitchenette in the room with cups, glasses, silverware. We were able to walk to most places. The staff are really nice. I will stay here again.

We checked in for 5 days and immediately noticed the TV was very snowy and also in an odd location. We had brought food to eat in the room as there was a kitchen with a refrigerator and a microwave but there were only wine glasses! No utensils, no plates, bowls or anything to eat with! The room was dirty... More

What a fun "authentic NOLA" experience! The location was great- perfect for walking to all the places you might want to experience in this fun city so you can leave your car safely on the street right in front of your door... My daughter and I booked last minute and were given Suite 12. This room might've been a problem... More

This was our first time to New Orleans and this location did not disappoint. It was inexpensive and walkable to Frenchman, Bourbon Street and the French Market. We had room #4. We were able to park our car for free right outside the hotel and felt it was very safe there. The B&B promised a "welcome drink" at Silk Road... More

This is going to be kind of long I'm sorry. But if you'd like a short version: it is way too expensive for what you get. My boyfriend and I decided to stay at the balcony guest house over Christmas because it was recommended by friends, and we thought since it was a smaller establishment it would have a more... More

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary this December plus she retired from a 25 year, very stressful career. We booked a cruise to leave out of New Orleans on December 13, 2015 and really wanted to spend a couple of days in NO to play before getting on the ship. I went on line looking for a place... More

This was our first time staying at this location. LOVE it. Very quaint. Owner very accommodating. Lovely B & B. Also known as Silkroad. "wine, dine and recline" Nothing level but adds to the charm. Zack is great and Dan (the man) is a treasure. Located in a residential area and about a mile from the French Quarter.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
