We stayed in this cute little B&B in the Marigny district just up from Frenchmen Street. A fab neighbourhood close to the great music venues, restaurant and shopping of the French Quarter. We definitely felt like locals as this place is tucked into a quirky, friendly and relatively quiet neighbourhood. Attached is the Silk Road restaurant which has a great... More

Family flew in from all over the world to celebrate my 70th birthday and all 20 of us stayed at the Balcony. We were greeted by Zak and later he brought flowers for me. The rooms were small but comfortable and we were able to all hang out at the balcony or in the main entry way. The food was... More

Had a hard time finding something suitable for my family with two small children. The Balcony Guest House fit the bill. The breakfasts were the best meals we had on the trip. The set up of our room was kind of strange, there was a door that opened to a supply closet for the kitchen so kitchen staff had access... More

Zak (the owner) responded to my reservation request by saying that the he would be putting us in the newly renovated and upscale Royal Guest House next door to the Balcony Guest House that was advertised. I called him to confirm that it was as nice as the room pictured and that it had the same amenities. He confirmed that... More

Management response:

Susan was a vey difficult guest - to say the least. She had a list of petty complaints every single day. We did all we humanly could to to satisfy her. One day it was the breakfast - she didn't want to eat the same great, hot gourmet breakfast we serve at our restaurant - - she wanted oatmeal, so... More

When we pulled up in front of the place we were disappointed. The building is in need of a good painting and is really not a great area. We checked in at the Shop/Bar/Restaurant and were brought to our room by the Chef/ front desk person? We were brought into s duplex style home, entrance nice decorated then brought up... More

I always try to stay at Balcony House/Schiro's if I can when visiting NoLa. I absolutely love the neighborhood and what it contains with both St. Claude and Frenchmen areas within easy walking distance. I don't want to drive or cab when in NoLa if I can help it...the owner is a great guy too and the staff pretty good.... More

Located in Marigny, just few blocks from French Quarter and Frenchman St, Balcony Guest House is the perfect place for a good experience in NO. The neighbourhood is nice with good bars and a feeling of easy living. The rooms in Balcony are nice and clean, the breakfast is good and the staff is friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the restaurant... More

If you’re the kind of traveller who likes to settle straight away into a real neighborhood, sleep comfortably but simply, have both support and independence, and eat great food, the Balcony Guest House is a fine choice for your stay in New Orleans. We booked on the recommendation of travel writers from the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper, who seem to have... More

We stayed here twice during Madi Gras, and had a wonderful time all the staff (especially Zachary) made us feel welcome and helped us with everything we needed. Clean, cozy rooms at an affordable rate. Excellent location for walking around, and exploring! We will most certainly return!

Balcony Guest House suited us very well. It felt very New Orleans. Pricing was moderate and included breakfast. (fresh made, decent, filling, a bit greasy) The titular balcony is a great place to rest and relax between sightseeing. Rooms are perfectly adequate. This is not luxury living in the French Quarter, but rooms are clean and comfortable. The downstairs restaurant/bar/liquor... More
