the air conditioning was nice, the private room was reasonably priced, and we had no problems. the bathrooms were grungy, but most hostels are like that. our window overlooked the backyard where everyone hung out at night drinking and having open-mike night, which was annoying, but normal for hostels. more

This place has a great atmosphere and a lot of character. It was ravaged by Katrina but has been beautifully restored, however there's not much around it. Stayed two weeks. Rms are cleaned occasionally. Dirty clothes are everywhere. The common areas are cleaner than the rooms. You cant breath in rooms. Storage for dirty clothes, cheesy shoes and insects attacking you. Its better to sleep outside and thats even worst.
