Ok! The place is located so close to the streetcar station in Canal st. Which is a Main Street in NOLA. The staff is friendly, and you can check in as early as 7 AM which is great! However, the building is renovated from the outside, but so old and gloomy from the inside. Cleanliness is not there at all;... More

I stayed here during Mardi Gras 2014. The place was clean, friendly and generally had a good atmosphere. The decor was also great! As any hostel, it's quite laid back. It is also in a great location. It's around a 30 minute walk to the French quarter, or if you prefer to get a cab, they are also very cheap.... More

We arrived early and they were able to accomidate us. We had a change in our original room needs, but when a room became available, it was made available to us. We were given a tour of this colorful, unique rooming experience when we got there, and immediately, we were in love. A central common space with available food brought... More

One note on the reviews here. Most of the bad reviews on here are from people who never stayed in a hostel. I've stayed in hostels all over the world and can honestly say this is a good one. There are ample common areas to socialize and hang out. Plenty of interesting people. Self service kitchen and many refrigerators to... More

This hostel will appeal to you if you like unique and special places. It's not a luxury establishment, obviously, so I find no reason to complain about conveniences. The kitchen is great, there is plenty of fridge space, ample outdoor area, bring earplugs and a sleeping mask, and you'll be fine. This is a place that never sleeps, in a... More

Great Hostel. Staff are friendly, good cheap meals and breakfast options. Big social areas and indoor areas, with a great social atmosphere. Close to easy transport to get into the main areas. Really cool buzz about it as well, very cool place. Only negative is the beds / mattresses are terrible. Make sure you drink enough that you pass out... More

As a frequent traveler, and a thrifty one at that, I spend most of my trips staying in hostels. None of them is more memorable to me than the India House. The hostel is located within a walking distance from the City Park, the Museum and the cemeteries. It is also seconds away from the CANAL streetcar line, which will... More

Had a 2-night stay at this funky place this January. We had a private room ($50) which had bunk beds. Also had a private bath (where we did find one roach) with a low water pressure shower. I would recommend bringing ur own pillows, and the blanket was really scratchy. But hey, this was an adventure! The hostel has its... More
