You are wondering if Elysian Fields is the place to stay. Let me assure you, if you are in NOLA for some good music on Frenchmen’s or in the Bywater; if you want to be within walking distance of some excellent food and darn fresh (75 cent!) oysters at St. Rochs Market; if you want a well-appointed comfortable place to... Elysian Fields Inn far exceeded all expectations. Bob and Michelle helped us to steer clear of all the tourist traps, pointing us toward great music and incredible food. We were a short walk from the French Quarter and right by Frenchman Street (which quickly became our favorite area). Breakfast was always delicious and the room was very comfortable. We felt... We went down for a week and wanted to be close to the French Quarter but not in the middle of the all night noise. Elysian Fields Inn was the perfect location for us as it was just a short walk (a couple of blocks) to the Quarter. We drove down and had no problem finding parking. The Innkeepers, Bob... More

Wow, what a great place. Beautiful old house, great rooms, perfect location. The new owners, Bob & Michelle, could not have been more gracious and helpful. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in New Orleans.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and had the best time! It was our first time in New Orleans and Bob and Michelle gave us great tips on where to go and what to see, steering us away from the touristy stuff and toward great music and awesome food that was more our speed. The place was... More

We were in New Orleans for New Years and Michelle's and Bob were incredible innkeepers. The breakfasts were delicious and the rooms were cpmfortalbe, spacious and clean. This was the perfect location, not too far from the French Quarter festivities but far enough away to not have the noise. Bob and Michelle were knowledgeable and incredibly helpful and responsive with... More

This was our first trip to The Big Easy and I cannot think of a better place to stay. As a musician I loved the short walk to Frenchmen St. where you can hear some of New Orleans finest play. My son-in-law said it right, "The city sings to you". The inn is lovely and comfortable and Michelle and Bob... More

really nice place. the new innkeepers are the best. we had to leave really early at 530am and we left my husband glasses in the room and had to ring the doorbell. I was so embarrassed but they were so nice about it and tried to make it like it was no big deal. I am sure they were sound... More

We stayed here the first weekend in December. Michelle and Bob were wonderful hosts. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. We're enjoyed the peace from being a little out of the quarter but loved that everything was in walking distance. Thank you Bob and Michelle for everything you did for us. We will definitely stay here... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
