Every one of the 11 times I've visited New Orleans in the last 20 years, I've stayed at a different place - International House, the Omni Royal Crescent, the Audubon Cottages at the Maison de Ville. Stylish places, all of them. But after three nights at the Elysian Fields, it will be the only place I'll stay from now on.... more

Every year my best friend and I take a trip together. Although we are always on a tight budget, we try to stay in B&Bs because we love the personal touches and local flavor. Of all those that we've stayed in over the past 10 years, the Elysian Fields Inn ranks as one of the very best. Jim and Leigh... more

Jim and Leigh, the innkeepers, are truly wonderful down-to-earth people who really love New Orleans and all it has to offer. They are great resources for some of the city's hidden gems, as well as the well-known tourist attractions. We loved spending breakfast with them chatting about the day's plans and activities. The Inn itself is beautifully maintained and in... more

A five-minute walk from Frenchmen Street entertainment and 10 more minutes to the middle of the French Quarter makes this inn close to the best of N.O. action but quiet when you want it. A choice of two decks, front and back, were great for a late afternoon lay-back. The hosts were fantastic, providing top suggestions on food, entertainment and... more

Management response from

We are very happy that our Canadian friends enjoyed the Inn and New Orleans. Our proximity to both Frenchmen Street and it’s world class music clubs and restaurants and the French Quarter and all it has to offer is wonderful. And, Jim and I truly enjoy sharing the culture of America’s most unique city with our guests. Our Inn is...

We (my wife and another couple) just completed a 3 day stay at the Elysian Fields. As a commercial pilot I stay in more hotels than I would like to remember, but this B&B is the best. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom (wood floors with tiled walls) was not only clean but looked like they were... more

Elysian Fields Inn was an added delight when we recently visited New Orleans. The location , just outside the French Quarter, was perfect for us. The Inn is clean and the food is very good. The innkeepers, Leigh and Jim are the most gracious folks, and we will look forward to another stay with them on our next trip.. more

This B&B is very clean and comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are large and very nice. The two porches are awesome - a great place to sit and have a cup of coffee and read your book. Jim and Leigh (the owners) are very gracious and full of information about New Orleans. The Inn is a five minute walk to... more

This was our first trip to Nawlins and loved everything about it. The Inn was the perfect repreive from adventures in french quarter. Everythng is within walking distance so no need to rent a car. Jim and Leigh are wonderful hosts and served breakfast as a team to the full house of guests. Being B&B owners ourselves, we loved to... more

The B&B is located on the outskirts of the French Quarter in a neighborhood known as Faubourg Marigny. As others have already said, the rooms are spacious and impeccable, the breakfasts are delicious, and Jim and Leigh are fantastic hosts. Nothing has changed from the previous reviews. This is a five star bed and breakfast. It's about a three block... more

My sister and I loved stay with Jim and Leigh, in their lovely B&B inn. They made us feel right at home, and were more than helpful when it came to suggesting places to go and things to see. Their enthusiasm for the city was contagious. Our room (103), with its twin beds, was immaculate and oh so comfortable. And... more
