Lukas and I stay in Room 4 for thirteen nights during both weekends of the New Orleans Heritage & Jazz Festival. Our room request is made seven months in advance via hostelworld.com. Request an itemized invoice and receipt of your confirmed reservation after you have booked and bring a copy of this with you at check-in. Also, bring copies of... More

St. Vincent's rules!! First - it's pretty grimy. Expect a few roaches. It's a hostel not a hotel. But it's a beautiful old Infants Asylum, with big rooms, porches, a pool, and the nicest, if not very efficient, staff. Super location too. Go to Mojo coffee across the street. Booked 3 nights in the dorms, but when my wife and... More

Very dirty & un-organized. Many "unsavoury characters" lurking about Not particularly well located but better than most other hostels. Had to wait hours past check in time as there was a mistake on the reception

To be fair I stayed in this Hostel a few years back during the Mardi Gras week, so hopefully has improved since then. But I just remembered this place and had to review/warn. This was the most bizarre hostel I have ever stayed in. Stayed here with 3 friends in a shared room. I don't know where to start. 24... More

Hi Sarah, It is very hard to respond to your review because you stayed so long ago I really cannot address a specific concern. I will say that the property has had a complete change of management starting in February of 2015 and we are certainly making many repairs and improvements and are truly striving to be a great place... My experience staying at St. Vincent's Guest House was excellent. The room and the entire guest house was clean, and the staff was extremely helpful. The staff were friendly, nice and fun. They gave us good advice for traveling and were more than happy to help. The prices were great, and I even lost my room key and they charged... More

I had a very enjoyable stay at St. Vincent's. It was very affordable, the staff was very friendly, it was clean, and the location was great. It was near enough the French Quarter and Garden District to walk, and the area was beautiful. There was also many great (and also affordable) restaurants nearby.

I stayed at St. Vincent's when I was attending a scientific conference in NOLA. The stay was great St. Vincent's had all I/we needed. Nice and comfortable rooms, free WiFi, an very authentic atmosphere in a lovely building and a great service which was always available (e.g. I forgot my watch in my room and it was sent immediately to... The French Quarter and surrounding areas in NOLA is filled with hotels that range from $110 or so and $500 nightly on average. That is not affordable for many people and if are very budget minded and need someplace to sleep after all day of enjoying the French Quarter then head on to St. Vincent Guest house. Its for the... Besides the guests using the pool, it is also open for neighborhood folks who can buy a day pass, weekly pass, bi-weekly or monthly pass... or even the entire season until October 2015. French Quarter Fest starts on April 9th thru 12th.
