We had a wonderful experience staying at the inn. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The location is quiet but convenient to everything. We splurged on the King bedroom since we were celebrating our anniversary and it was well worth it. We arrived late after a horrible drive in bad weather, but Miss Linda was there waiting to... This is a terrific B&B in the Lower Garden District on New Orleans. It is in great proximity to the Garden District, a ten minute walk to the WWll museum and warehouse district and about a 10 minute ride to the French Quarter and to Audubon Park Uptown. It is just a a few minutes walk to St. Charles to... More

We love this Inn and found it to be the perfect location at the quieter end of Magazine in the Lower Garden District. Whether exploring the handsome library and lush courtyard garden or enjoying the silver service breakfast from the main dining room, we felt "at home." Rooms are tastefully and comfortably appointed with sumptuous beds and linens, robes, fresh... More

My review is included in my Room Tip comments. Please consider installing the bathroom grab bars I described in my room tip suggestions. Everything else is superior to the troubling logistics of staying in a large hotel with parking problems and access to rooms etc. Price is right also.!!!!!

Terrell House offers a variety of lodging options in their historic buildings on Magazine St. in the Lower Garden District. It is close to many wonderful restaurants and shops in this National Historic District. The staff and the breakfasts are wonderful. Have stayed here many times and I'm never disappointed.

We recently spent a weekend at Terrell House with our teenagers. This was our second stay in this grand old home. Linda was easy to contact and greeted us warmly on our arrival, even though it was 10.30pm! The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The chef asked what time we wanted breakfast and presented a delicious feast. The... More

We love it here. Super friendly staff, great room, wonderful breakfast. Terrell house is located a mile or so out of the heart of New Orleans on Magazine Street. I personally like this area so much better.

I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed our location! We love the Lower Garden District as it's a bit easier to navigate, but still quite close and easy to get to the French Quarter. We hope to have you all stay with us again! More

Very clean and all the staff go the extra mile to make your stay very special. Within walking of some nice shopping and eateries. Easy for Uber drivers to find. The breakfasts were great and nicely prepared. I was amazed at how clean the house, and grounds were.

From the moment we contacted Linda O'Brien about rooms for 10 of us through our stay months later, everyone at Terrell House was incredibly gracious, efficient, professional, pleasant, and fun. Couldn't have been better or nicer.

Close to great restaurants, beautiful neighborhood walks, shops, antiquing, and the streetcar! Would recommend for a getaway or for a beautiful wedding in the courtyard. Hosts are gracious and the staff could not be more accommodating. We will be back!

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
