Per previous reviews the location is perfect. Within walking distance of all attractions. Bourbon St., Steam riverboat, Harrahs casino, St. Louis#1, Cafe du Mond. etc.. We walked to the WWII museum. St. Charles street car stop is across the street. Fare is $1.25. There is a little shop right next to the hotel for snax, pop, beer, newspaper etc. There... More

Thank you for your review. We really appreciate your feedback regarding the Astor. We agree the hotel's location is unsurpassed in the city! Please know the hotel will have all new flat screen televisions by the end of 2010. The new TV's were delayed due to the slowing of the economy in 2009, but they are ordered and will be... More

My co-worker and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Astor in New Orleans recently. We were both attending a conference being held at the nearby Hilton hotel. Almost every aspect of our stay in New Orleans was inconvenient and unpleasant, and this hotel was the biggest reason. The first day of the conference happened to be Fat Tuesday, March 16th.... More

We are sorry to hear that your visit was not a positve experience at the Astor. Mardi Gras is a very difficult time for our hotel team, especially due to our location on the parade route. However that being said your impressions having to "fend for yourself" attitude of our staff is not acceptable...whether it be Mardi Gras or not.... More

It's all about the location! Walk to everything. After the reviews here, I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleased overall. We attended a conference in this hotel, and those facilities were just fine. Rooms were lovely, comfy beds, and very clean. Elevators were readily available even when it got crowded during "French Quarter Festival" weekend. We... More

I was at this hotel in April of 2010 for a week attending a conference. The hotel is very clean, apparently it is an older hotel that has been remodeled and taken over by Crowne Plaza. It’s in a great location at the corner of Bourbon and Canal, so if you are in the party mode this is the perfect... More

I was a bit concerned by some of the reviews listed here prior to travelling. The impression seemed to be that of mediocrity. We spent 7 nights in the Plaza for a conference trip. We could not have had better treatment from the staff and the hotel was excellent. The nightlife is, quite literally, on your doorstep. Surprisingly there was... More

Booked a room in January. Reserved either a King bed room or a two Queen bed room. When I arrived, the receptionist asked me if I wanted the one bed or two. I said just the King, and I'd like a room with a view please. The room, which smelled like smoke, had only one queen with a view of... More

Stayed for three nights at the Crowne Plaza and was pleased. The location is excellent and the room was quite comfortable although the climate system was hard to figure out. The only major complaint was no free wi-fi - had to use the business center and no exhaust fan in the toilet. That is something that really needs to be... More

Cons: We chose this hotel based on the reviews and the price. We were so disappointed, (especially after staying at the Ritz-Carlton a block away a few weeks ago for only $30 more.) They tried to pass off queen beds as kings. (We were sent to two tiny rooms with a single queen in each before deciding to give up... More

Thank you for your review and we apologize that we were not able to meet your expectations. The bed type should not have been an issue for your stay and it is disappointing to hear we were not able to meet your request. You are correct about the mini bar/fridge. it's not an amenity that the hotel offers, however new... More

We visited the Astor Crown Plaza as a little getaway for our anniversery. The Staff was very friendly. Arionne was a pleasure! She was expedient, professional and willing to answer any questions about the hotel and/or city. This hotel is located on Canal and Bourbon. Main entrance is on Canal and a second entrance on Bourbon that is locked late... More
