I was staying with a group. We had 4 different rooms. Our specific room was OK. Had a sitting area and a separate bedroom. Only odd thing was no windows in the wall. When we were lying in the bed and looked up... there were the windows. But had not been cleaned or else they were double paned and the... More

We used Priceline bidding process and received this hotel. The location is excellent and we could walk everywhere from the hotel. Beautiful lobby, excellent restaurant and our room was top notch (stayed 10th floor). Only negative was during our 4 night stay, room was only cleaned 1 day and we had to ask for towels, etc., because of this.

I agree with other reviewers that the hotel is definitely not 4 star quality. It was fine for what we needed - a place to sleep and shower. The location was great and I was glad that we weren't further down Bourbon Street where it was more crowded. BRING EAR PLUGS! Our room faced Bourbon Street and it was quite... More

Street location is outstanding. Hotel is at the corner of Canal St & Bourban St which is the corner of the French Quarter. But being on Canal also gives you easy access to attractions like the Aquarium and Insectarium, and the trolley. However, rooms on the Bourban St side are incredibly noisy on the lower floors due to the late... More

This is the worst Crowne Plaza we have stayed in. It bares no resemblance to a Crowne Plaza in England. The best thing is the location right on Bourbon Street, but because of the location it can be noisy. Non of the staff are helpful, In fact they can be quite rude. We were there 3 days (not our choice... More

Great Location, Rooms rated 2, Reception desk service deplorable. When requested a fan for the room, was asked to go buy our own across the street from Walgreens at 10:00 PM. No followup next day, if we still needed fan. Maid service excellent. Room carpet not acceptable. Sony Clock Radio not working. No glasses for water during the conference,

My husband and I made our very first trip to New Orleans in March 2014. We are from Las Vegas so we wanted to stay in the heart of the party when we were in NOLA. Crowne Plaza Astor is in such a perfect location! It's on the corner of Canal & Bourbon Street. Canal is basically the main street... More

The hotel - we LOVED the location, but the service was "piss poor" at best! In fact, we demanded at checkout to speak to the general manager and after waiting nearly 15 min (they told us it would be just a few minutes) we ended up getting the housekeeping manager! Here's the items we outlined with him and he wrote... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
