I always consult the Trip Advisor hotel ratings when I am visiting a city for the first time. I generally disregard the best and worst reviews and stick with the overall impressions. Never before have I ever completely disagreed with the general consensus before I stayed here. There is no way that this hotel should be rated four stars -... More

My friends and I have stayed at Le Richelieu every year when we go to Mardi Gras for the past 12 years, and it's become our special place. I find it's old world charm is very appealing as it "feels" like the French Quarters. The same helpful, friendly staff are there to greet us and help us with our needs... More

This was our 4th consecutive year at Le Richelieu for the Papa Noel Season. We have always been very happy with the accommodations and service. However this year, it was like they didn't care anymore. They no longer have an on duty parking lot attendant and installed an electric gate. Exiting the gate is no problem - the sensors work... My friend and I decided to go to New Orleans for New Years at the last minute and found this little hotel located in the French Quarter. It was a perfect location, close to the action but not so close that it was bothersome. Wonderful staff and rooms! More

We stayed in a suite over New Years. For New Orleans, the room was very reasonably priced for a very busy weekend in NOLA. I thought the old, outdated style of hotel was pretty cool. My fiance thought it was a little too outdated- like we were staying at our grandparents house. The room was huge with almost a full... More

He stayed two nights here as a last minute option. Great price, great location, great character, and clean. It gives a little impression of stuffiness and needs a desperate update in their carpet and bathrooms. We enjoyed it but not sure if I would stay there again. More

We decided to spend our Christmas vacation in New Orleans this year. Of course, there was only one choice for our accommodations: a return to Le Richelieu. It was as beautifully and tastefully decorated for the holidays as we imagined that it would be, we were welcomed back like old friends by Pam, Dave, and the other helpful front desk... More

This hotel had a GREAT location and the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Rooms were AMAZINGLY clean, but not kept up well at all. The flooring under the carpet was very uneven and uncomfortable to walk on. There were so many scuff marks and cracks on the walls, and caulking needed touch up in many areas in the bathroom.... Fantastic place to be in the Quarter - over on the quieter side near Frenchmen if you want to be a bit away from all of the noise/hectic life that is closer to Bourbon and Canal. A bit dated, but that's New Orleans for you - room was clean, bathroom was fine, so nothing to complain about. Definitely a great... More
