This was a great place to stay. Just far enough from the noise of the French Quarter but close enough to walk to all the wonderful restaurants in the French Quarter. This is an older hotel so the walls are a bit thin. We had a 3rd floor room with a lovely little balcony that had 2 chairs and a... More

My husband and I chose this hotel a night before our cruise, we really liked the gated parking area, there is a $25.00 nightly fee, but you will find this is very convenient since the parking is very limited in the small neighborhood. I really enjoyed the fact we could walk and see the wonderful sights. Our room was on... More

This was a wonderful place. Try to get a balcony. We travelled with relatives and had 4 rooms total - all with 2nd. floor walk through balconies. 3rd. floor balconies do not go between room. Staff was great. Lots of charm. Close to everything but not on top of all the noise in the center of the French quarter. This... More

If you want to be on a quieter end of the French Quarter, but close enough to walk everywhere and ditch the car, this is the place. Yes, it's old. Yes, it's got "funky" charm (smaller rooms, older plumbing, slanting floors), but it is comfortable and clean and the staff was superb! They will call cabs, give advice on places... More

The "Le Richelieu " Hotel on Chartres St in NOLA is full of rich texture, from the pillared facade to the mansard roof. There is a feel of old world hoteling as you step through the large double entrance doors into the lobby. Ornate cornices, polished floors, overstuffed furniture all make for an ambiance reminiscent of the gilded age. The... More

This is not a luxury property. Some fresh paint and carpet would go al long way. It is superbly located, an easy walk to everything, esp. Frenchman's St where the best music can be found. It is a comfortable hotel with good amenities including a pool, courtyard and cozy bar. Overall a fine value.

This hotel is in a great location - it's charming and the staff is outstanding. However, some general maintenance is required. My room sorely needed a coat of paint (some parts of the wall and window sill were actually dirty), clean sheer curtains at the window and bathroom updates. In spite of that, I'll probably stay here again.

The staff and bartenders were great! I stayed there on business at the time of Mardi Gras and I was glad to be in that part of the city. It is only five blocks form Jackson Square, the heart of all the action. It is also only one block from the French Market. If you are looking for a fancy... More

The staff is excellent and met our basic needs. Location is excellent and the charm of New Orleans can be found here. I would not stay here at anytime that the weather was warmer than 74 degrees. Our room was a street view on one if the top floors with a crank out window and it was hot. There was... More

This was a wonderful surprise, a classic NOLA hotel with all the trimmings. Room was comfortable and well appointed (no coffee machine...visit the lobby for complimentary coffee) , the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Nice secure, gated parking lot in the back, and the facility is smack in the middle of the French Quarter. Walking distance to everything, especially... More
