Close to transit to take you to French Quarter, and attracts other great people. We met a few friends and took a ride down to check out the Halloween parade. Our room was clean, spacious, and private. We did see the shared rooms and they looked pretty cool too! The staff were friendly and informative. Plus, waffles in the morning..... More

Comfortable beds. Very secure. You can save a TON a money by getting a cooler and some ice and bringing some groceries and cooking. That is what we did ;)! Felt right at home. It is pretty much a DIY setting. Allison and Cody were awesome and very knowledgeable about the area. Only note: It is IN the Garden District... More

My two friends and I stayed in a room with 3 bunk beds last summer when we were completing an East Coast tour of the USA from Toronto. This was the first hostel we stayed at during our trip and it really set the bar. The facilities were clean and exactly what we needed for our budget price. The staff... More

We stayed here a few weeks ago on a road trip down through the U.S. And I was so happy with this place. Although a little away from the French Quater, this is still in a really cool location with great bars and beautiful colonial buildings nearby. The hostel is very clean and has good facilities. By far the best... More

Since the hostel is located pretty far away from the city center and from the bus station, they can pick you up from the bus station for free. When I arrived at the station, I called them and 30 minutes later they picked me up. The girl who picked me up was friendly and more or less gave a private... More

After an 11 hour day of driving I arrived in the middle of the night, a friendly guest let me in and the receptionist handled my booking over the phone, she was incredibly accommodating and friendly and even patient and laughing at the late hour (Allison, you are great at your job! Thank you) the next morning the regular manager... More

For a hostel this place is very good, very well priced and friendly. You have a locked room, bunkbeds on both of my visits. There is a full kitchen with breakfast in the morning. And the bathrooms are okay, what you would expect, location is good. About a 5 minute walk from the tram system, and the garden district itself... More

This place is newly remodeled, and they did a great job with it! My husband and I stayed here for Mardi Gras this year and we loved it! We had our own private room off of the main house. The staff is amazing as well! Sarah was there a lot helping us with our tours and all the local places... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
