My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we could not have found a better spot to experience New Orleans. We had looked at numerous places online and Ruth's photos represent her property beautifully. It is an historical home kept very well! There are only 4 rooms and each has its own very unique features. While we were there,... More

Stayed four nights over New Years. We had the Enchanted Cottage and our friends had the Johnson suite, so we spent enough time in each. The location is very convenient to Frenchman Street for all that great music that you come to NOLA for. Also, it was very quiet, safe and private. We had our own entrance, so it was very... More

A little off the beaten path but that is what my husband and I prefer for privacy. However, don't let that comment sway you away. This B&B has everything you want- privacy, excellent service, close to restaurants and clubs but quiet! Innkeeper is wonderful! Will definately stay here again and recommend to friends!

Two days after proposing, my newly engaged fiancé Kim & I checked in for a quick two and a half day stay at this gorgeous B&B on the recommendation of a friend. My fiancé had never been to New Orleans before and I was eager to show her the true beauty and charm of this city. If you're looking for... More

After being away much too long, we're back in New Orleans! We stay at the Lanaux House when we can (only 4 rooms), and love it, love it, love it. Originally built by NO's wealthiest Creole merchant, the mansion has been owned by the Bodenheimer family for generations, and retains its Belle Epoch charm in every detail. Located in the... More

We stayed in the Enchanted Cottage and it was so quaint, a perfect place to stay while we adventured out in the french quarter and frenchmen street. Ruth, who has owned the mansion since the early 1980s was incredibly accommodating and friendly. She really went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and start a friendship that would... More

My wife and I spent Christmas in New Orleans and stayed at the Lanaux Mansion in the Enchanted Cottage. The architecture of the mansion is fantastic, it is a stately and elegant home with high ceilings, beautiful woodwork and lots of warmth. The Enchanted Cottage is a real charmer. Re-purposed into living quarters from its original use for storage, it... More

This was our second stay at the Lanaux Mansion, just outside the French Quarter and two short blocks from Frenchmen Street. We''ll come back. The location is ideal, if you don't mind walking (and only a couple of blocks up from the Riverfront streetcar), but it's the ambiance and attention to detail in the room, coupled with the price, that... Situated near the southeast corner of New Orlean's famed French Quarter, Lanaux Mansion offers beautiful accommodations in Victorian style. Stay in the Enchanted Cottage if it's available--or in the Library in the main house. Enjoy continental breakfast items, delivered to your room daily, then walk the 4 blocks or so to the center of the French Quarter! Hostess Ruth Bodenheimer... More

My wife and I chose this bed & breakfast because of its location to the French Quarters, the historic appearence and of course the magic of movies. What we discovered was a place still preserved in the past. The Lanaux Mansion offers its guest a piece of New Orleans history in each of the rooms offered. We stayed in the... More
