If you've enjoyed the simple comforts of staying in a hostel or European style pensiones, then the Empress Hotel in New Orleans may be just the right spot for you. The rooms are not large, but they do have a private clean bath, TV, comfortable enough bed, friendly staff, and probably the best value in town - rooms are well... More

I'm not going to rag on this place because it is clear everyone else has made their point. This hotel is NOT a place that you would feel clean in. It IS however a good place to stay for someone on a budget, sightseeing for a day, and drinking in the streets at night. I came here a LONG time... More

My boyfriend and I took a road trip from Orlando to New Orleans just for the one night and didn't have anywhere booked for the night, we went into many hotels and after we nearly gave up, a hotel nearby told us that this hotel had some rooms left, they told us that it wasn't too nice so we were... I have never, ever. left bad feedback, but this is the worst place ever.....what you get for $78 is a bed, and that is it. You will never take a shower in this dump. It looks like a prison cell, no fridge, no toilet paper, 2 worn out towels, small bed, no night lamp, no window, no nothing, only a... More

I did research before my trip and this hotel has the lowest rates in the city if you're looking for a place that is within walking distance of the French Quarter. I don't know why this place gets such a bad rap. My room was very clean and I didn't have any issues with my stay there. If you're looking... More

Pros: had availability Cons: had availability The other reviewers are correct... Nice staff indeed. But the rooms must be in violation of some local health codes. Stayed 1 night. Lucky us. Noisy. Close to the French Quarter gets it 1 star.

Outside of a place in China, this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. New Orleans can be expensive, and I'm on a budget so this was a cheaper option. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. There is a sign at reception saying guests not allowed into the premises after 11pm and then never in a guests... More

This hotel was very convent in price and area. It was about 10-15 minutes away from Bourbon St and Canal St. The front desk staff were very attentive with meeting the needs of their guest. There was someone there 24 hours making me and my friends feel safe and secure. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Empress, it was... More
