Considering Ritz-Carlton’s reputation, my wife and I had high expectations for our stay in New Orleans. Unfortunately, this beautiful facility turned out to be “just another hotel.” Check-in: Despite arriving around 6 PM, the front desk was poorly staffed; just one clerk was on duty. After waiting for three other guests to be served—none of whom were checking in—it was... more

My husband and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans for our anniversary on Easter sunday. The staff was so attentive and sweet as pie. Every employee there was friendly! We entered our room & found a card from the staff wishing us a Happy Anniversary along with strawberries, blackberries and blue berries with cream. We felt the Ritz treated us... more

We went last weekend and stayed at the Ritz New Orleans. Every single employee there stops and says hello, how are you. They were the best staff I've ever experienced at a hotel, cheap or expensive. The only downside was that the lights went out to several blocks of the Quarter on the second night we were there. Nothing at... more

I think my review mirrors many other comments here. The hotel was beautiful, service was quite good, room was comfortable -- but didn't feel like I was in the lap of luxury. I have stayed in rooms just as nice at JW Marriotts and Hiltons. I expect more from a Ritz. Hotel was mostly empty but we were assigned an... more

We stayed at the hotel from 3/18-3/24/09. We had a one bedroom suite with 1 1/2 bathrooms. The hotel is walking distance to everything. We loved staying there. The staff made our visit very comfortable. We were there with a large group for the first 4 days and this hotel took care of everything. It was a first class operation.... more

Got a great deal through a well known hotel booking site. We stayed mid-week and were lucky enough to be upgraded as it was our anniversary. The staff were very friendly and the room was stunning. The location, just outside the action is ideal as a staging ground to get the French quarter and beyond by foot. The only disappointment... more

My husband and I just returned from a quick weekend at the Ritz. We chose this hotel because we use the Amex fine hotels and resorts progam, and the pricing was on par with the other nice hotels. This Ritz lives up to its name. The location is perfect for those who like the French Quarter, and don't mind walking... more

We stayed at the Ritz March 2008. While unsure of what to expect post Katrina we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, surroundings, people and environment. New Orleans is a passionate city with proud residents who adore their city. This was evident from interactions with staff at the Ritz and throughout the city. Now for the hotel itself: Old world... more

I just returned from a week in New Orleans hosting a conference of 100+ people at the Ritz. We chose the hotel for business reasons, primarily the availability of the right sort of meeting-room space on the specific dates that we required. The Ritz in New Orleans is actually two older hotels that were refurbished and combined into one at... more
