So glad we got the chance to stay there--very clean and comfortable. Glen was very friendly, had a lot of really helpful recommendations, and knows a lot about the region's history. There is parking on the street or off if you drive or rent a car, and close to the french quarter if you want to walk or take a... More

This is decent value for money. Located on Esplanade Avenue, HH Whitney House was a comfortable 25 minute walk to the French Quarter and the more recently-developed street of live music establishments, and run by experienced owners who have been welcoming guests to New Orleans for a long time. The house itself is on the rusty side. It seemed to... More

Stayed there for four nights. Am from Louisiana and have been to New Orleans on many occasions. Can affirm that this is a great location to the French quarter, city park( bike lane also) and to the Marighny neighborhood. The host Glenn is a native so he is most helpful with getting around if one needs help. This is a... More

The rooms and house are old, but very nicely decorated and furnished, as well as comfortable. The hosts are very friendly people and sat us down to tell us where to go and what to do, as well as recommending great restaurants. The breakfasts they made were delicious, and just the right size. HH Whitney is located conveniently on Esplanade... More

HH Whitney House is an amazing trip back in time. The house is draped in extravagance and comfort. These qualities shouldn't exist on the same plane but do here. Add to this harmony, the delicious breakfasts, the helpfulness and charm of the hosts, and the interesting location, and it is easy to understand why so many people return year after... More

We enjoyed our time in H H Whitney House. The house is beautifully decorated, breakfasts were delicious (‘small’ European sized portions, just perfect :-) and the pool was refreshing in the afternoon. We rented the small apartment in the front on the second floor. We loved sitting on the big balcony and watching people go by. Disadvantages: if the owner... More

To celebrate my wife’s 60th we drove 1600 miles from Canada to spend a week in New Orleans. After a lot of research we chose HH Whitney because it looked beautiful and – most importantly – had a pool. Glen, our host, was very helpful in the booking process and suggestions of things to do that fit our interests. We... More

My son was moving from Chicago to Nola in Feb.2013. I booked HHW via their website, followed by a very detailed email of our travel itinerary. Then a phone conversation informing owner of our plans. We rented a van, loaded up his furniture and proceeded to drive, white knuckled and afraid, through a major snowstorm in Illinois. Had to stop... More

I escorted by family to their first visit of New Orleans. I had been there many times in the past, but primarily in the French Quarter. I had not experienced first hand the Victorian stylings offered by the HH Whitney House. When you arrive you may be intimidated, as the surrounding neighborhood can sway from decrepit to opulent. Which is... More
