My husband and I loved the Jazz Quarters. It was a beautiful inn and we had a large and comfortable room. The little touches made the place though. Coffee, tea and cookies were always available in the dining room. We also discovered a corkscrew, wine glasses and a carafe of water in the room fridge was a very nice touch.... More

We are so excited to read this wonderful review! Everyone at Jazz Quarters works hard to create a great experience for our guests and your words let us know that we have succeeded. Your notice of all the “little touches” is so appreciated and we are thrilled that your breakfast was “amazing!” Thank you so much for sharing your experience... More

Our room was one of the smaller ones but very clean and tidy. The location was fantastic for walking around the French Quarter although Bourbon Street is a bit loud and over the top, so we spent more time eating and drinking in surrounding streets. The innkeepers were so nice and helpful but my wife is not a big eater... More

t was our pleasure to have you as our guests at Jazz Quarters. Our “White” guest room is our least expensive and most popular, albeit, smallest suite. It is great for two or three nights, but for lengthier stays a larger suite or cottage with a living room may be more comfortable. The “White” does have a covered private patio... More

My best friend and I were here for Mardi Gras - the year of the frozen Mardi Gras :) - but our room was warm and comfy, and had all the little amenities we wanted. The owners were so friendly and greeted us at breakfast each morning with a smile, fresh coffee and lively conversation. We never had a breakfast... More

I have a mixed review. First, the Jazz Quarters is in an excellent location close to the French Quarter and transportation. The rooms and suites are lovely and mix old features with modern updates. Charles was helpful and gave us good tips about restaurants and sites to see. Much less positively, was our breakfast experience. I have food allergies and... More

We are so sorry that despite our efforts, you had an unhappy experience at breakfast. Your misinterpretation of our breakfast policy is unfortunate. Your arrival with this incorrect preconceived idea of our policies was difficult for our staff and management to overcome. Nowhere on our website, nor in any of our routine emails, do we state that we accommodate strict... More

I knew going in that this location was in a not so great neighborhood. You need a code to enter into a sliding steel gate. It is very secure. Still, I am a big truster of Trip Advisor and liked many of the reviews. We were in the Marsilles room. It was large with two bedrooms and one bath. At... More

We feel that part of the charm of New Orleans neighborhoods is that they are such melting pots with many different cultures, similar to a great gumbo. All through the French Quarter, as well as Treme, are charming courtyards and glorious gardens behind brick, metal or wrought iron fences and gates. In fact, there are tours a few times during... Very comfortable, even in the sweltering June heat. It was nice to have an "apartment" of our own. The breakfasts were lavish and different. My wife loved them. The hosts were terrific, accommodating and even loaned us folding chairs to check out the Cajun Zydeco festival happening across the street. They recommended a private tour guide, Naif, who was also... More

Our Armstrong cottage does feel like a little Creole apartment and we are delighted that you felt so “at home.” Lavish is a great word to describe our two course breakfasts – we love to spoil our guests! A tour with Naif is most certainly an awesome one and we are so lucky to have him as a source for... More

Wonderful property adjacent to the French Quarters. Walk to everything...Frenchman Street., Bourbon Street, Royal Street. Our room, the Mayfield Suite, was recently remodeled while retaining the period look/feel. Nice, quiet, private room. Breakfast was wonderful each day, featuring southern dishes prepared by our charming and engaging hosts. Our hosts were also very helpful in recommending restaurants and music events. We... More

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We appreciate your comments about our recent renovations; we wanted our updates to complement, not over power, our 200 year old cottages. Our location seems just about perfect to us too. Maybe the next time you visit, our location will have an added convenience of being only a few... More

We stayed at the Jazz Quarters in December and the staff was absolutely wonderful! We were welcomed by one of the innkeepers right on arrival, and all the innkeepers are local, so they were a wealth of knowledge when it came to asking where to go and what to eat! They helped us plan around some of the things we... More

Staying in Treme

Neighborhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
