We stayed in several Inns in Louisiana and Mississippi, and this one was our favorite. We have travelled considerably and this special BnB is like no other. It's like finding the Inn off the beaten path. Ruby and Peter exemplify New Orleans; relaxed, down to earth, friendly, fun, and Peter will share his knowledge of the history, and character of... Peter and Ruby at Rose Manor made our Anniversary trip relaxing and wonderful. We were greeted with smiles and shown to our room. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect. They even left us a sweet note with a box of candy. Our first night ended on a yummy note with Peter providing delicious egg nog while we enjoyed the... More

My wife and i really enjoyed the stay at Rose Manor. the drive to downtown is only about 10 minutes, and Rose Manor is about half the price one would pay to stay within walking distance of the french quarter. plenty of shopping and dining near the B&B, rooms are clean and comfortable and we felt at home, felt welcomed.... Rose Manor B&B is the perfect accommodations for those who want to stay in a clean and convenient B&B just outside of The Quarter. It is located within walking distance to the marina, restaurants, grocery store, and other shopping. The Inn Keepers, Pete & Ruby, were extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs. The rooms were clean and beds were... More

This was me and the wife's first b&b. Pete and Mrs. Ruby are the nicest people! They really make you feel at home. They really make you feel welcome. Rooms are beautiful and super clean. Highly recommend. We will be back.

We haven't been with hosts like Ruby and Peter before. They made every possible effort to make us feel at home. The place is really nice, with its unique decor. Rooms are ample and comfortable. If you come to Rose Manor you won't be disappointed, but make sure you have a car, because it is short drive from downtown but... More

We booked our stay at Rose Manor for a recent vacation, and we were thoroughly impressed. The decor is a charming mix of English, Asian, and local influences. Peter and Ruby were wonderful hosts who treat you like you're family. They will introduce you to the other guests at breakfast time, making for a very homey and personable environment. Both... More

Great hosts. Peter & Ruby were friendly, kind, and provided all the info we needed about the city and events to make this a fantastic visit. We stayed a week and never ran out of things to do. Great location. Far enough from the craziness of downtown and close enough to attractions to make getting around easy. Bus stop near... More

A quaint property (9 guest rooms) with absolutely charming hosts. Peter and Ruby couldn't be nicer. They are attentive and genuinely concerned about their guests' experience. They were also very helpful in providing information in navigating New Orleans, such as where to park in the Garden District and downtown (for cheap!) and about some of the little towns on the... Staying in Lakeview

Neighborhood Profile
Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
