The advantages are that it is close to everything whilst not being in the middle...it is convenient to the Riverwalk, the Convention Center and the French Quarter. You can walk to everything. The rooms are adequate. The public rooms are a little disjointed. The only major issue was that upon arrival my room was not ready until 4:30 and I... More

I did not spend much time the hotel. The hotel is in good location, next to the casino, very close to the Mardi Gras parade route, and Bourbon Street. The room rate is was much lower than other three star hotels.

This is my first time staying at a Double Tree, but I heard they were nice hotels. To me this one is not as nice as I expected it to be. First off, our room did not have a refrigerator or microwave in it. I've stayed in much less expensive hotels that at least had those amenities. There was a... More

Terrible bathrooms, horrible shower, no extractor fan so you need to wait to do your face, You might as well share a room with your neighbors as it feels like they are in the room with you, I could hear the lady next door talking to her child on the cell phone, I know it was her child as I... My husband and I came down to New Orleans for a Couples Bonding retreat. Rooms was paid for and we weren't expecting anything really nice since it was the Military paying for it. But once we got here, everything was very nice. Valet parking was part of the room and that was nice since we have never done that before.... More

The hotel is quite outdated. I happened to be in New Orleans when temperatures were in the 30s and 40s, and the heating system didn't work. I mentioned it to the front desk upon which they sent a maintenance when I went to dinner. Their response was raising the temperature from 74 to 78 degrees and the room was still... More

The hotel is well located and staff friendly. Breakfast was pretty good- and the cookies are always good. Room was a decent size although the bathroom is a little tight. Spent little time in the room. Close to the streetcars which I took to see the garden district. Also easy walk to bourbon street

We had a great time during our vacation and the great staff made it possible! WOW Cafe has the best staff: Ashley, Stephanie and Robbie provided the best, friendliest service. The manager for the cafe, Mr. Mike took the time to greet us, provide us with history and background of their new menu. Ashley made our trip memorable and provided... More

I love New Orleans, but this was my second time staying in this hotel. The first time I stayed here, it was a lovely experience no complaints whatsoever, though I did not pay I was there for a friends birthday and her father is a reward member, dont know if that makes a difference, but just wanted to make that... Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
