Amazing place to stay for a quick 2 night visit for myself and my 20 year old daughter. Away from the French Quarter in a quiet beautiful neighborhood but close enough to be in the French Quarter in 10 min (by bus) or even quicker by cab. The breakfasts were AWESOME!!!. My daughter, who can't eat gluten, brought gluten free... More

"My sister and I stayed at the Degas House for a family vacation. Where do I begin? We initially had a small discrepancy in our booking. However, the zealous effort that Marie put forth to accommodate us went well beyond the scope of what we expected to heighten our comfort level. The sense of professionalism, coupled with her well trained... More

We did not stay out the hotel, but decided to visit and go on the house tour as my wife was interested in Degas and his work. Overall the tour was a bit expensive for what it covers. There's a 20 minute video to start, which basically covers most things, and then the tour guide tells you about the same... More

We apologize that you were not happy with your tour experience. Normally, the tours are given by one of the great grand-nieces of Edgar Degas. These ladies have been with us for many years (the senior tour guide for 12 years). Some of what is stated in the tour comes from their own experience as this was their family home.... More

We just spent a great week at the Degas House. Paige and Rose were wonderful. Our family filled the entire hotel for a destination wedding and with the help of the great staff everything went well. We did have one problem. While we were out of our room (Estelle) for a few minutes one evening, we experienced the theft of... More

Were it not that Degas had stayed here, I'm not sure how I would rated this hotel. But given that he's one of my favorite artists, this was a treat. Yes, it felt as if we were staying in a room at a museum, but that was half the fun. Haven't we all wished we could jump over a red... More

It was a pleasure having you stay with us and we are pleased that you appreciated and enjoyed experiencing the history of Degas House. The artwork throughout the home will please any Edgar Degas fan and, as you said, since it is a historical house museum, it is exciting to actually spend the night here. Our location, while not being... More

Visited New Orleans for the Essence Festival. Paige was awesome at helping with our reservations as we went from a group of 11 to 6. The house is a little dated but that is to be expected -preservation of the Musson-Degas family home. I stayed in the Estelle Suite. It was nice and spacious. The Desiree room was charming. The... Thank you for your kind review and for choosing Degas House for your stay in New Orleans. It was such a pleasure having your group stay with us recently. You certainly did stay in the most beautiful room in the home, however, all of our rooms are charming in their own way and are truly unique. We are proud of... More

We just spent a wonderful weekend at the Degas House. Get the waffles for breakfast!!!! We were surprised to find when we arrived that our room was upgraded. The Desiree Room is amazing. Huge room. Huge jacuzzi tub. Four poster bed. Beautiful antique furniture. A tour of the home was included in our package. The tour was informative & was... More

Thank you for submitting a review of your stay. Our waffles are amazing, aren’t they, and made from scratch. Desire Room is one of our most popular and has one of the nicest bathrooms in the home, particularly with the double Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour and appreciate the treatment... More

My husband and I were visiting New Orleans and saw the brochure for the Degas House. Since we had been in Paris previously we decided to go. The pamphlet showed a map indicating it was only a few blocks from the French Quarter. So we began to walk there- it took longer than an hour. Once arriving we found that... More

We are extremely sorry that you did not read all the information that is on the Degas House brochure regarding the Edgar Degas House Creole Impressionist Tour, which is America’s most significant contribution to Impressionist history. The brochure states exactly how far it is to walk from the French Quarter to Degas House and gives other detailed choices for transportation... More

This was what I expected from the pictures and the reviews. It was like staying in New Orleans in the nineteenth century. The breakfast was great, Rose was wonderful. The office was a little tricky, but we did meet the innkeeper on our second day. We had no trouble getting in our room and we enjoyed our stay.

We stay at B&Bs all over the country. This was the worst EVER! Stayed two nights July 16 & 17. No one welcomed us. Key and form letter in mailbox. "Staff" women walked past us our first evening and never spoke to us. Room was as expected but musty. Tv didn't work night one. Called number on letter. No answer.... More
