From first contact via the telephone to check out, our stay was great! Our room was quaint and the whole place has great character. You won't find key cards, elevators and luxury, but you'll enjoy the quiet and charm of this gem while being only steps from the action. Everyone was welcoming and accommodating--offering suggestions for good places to eat,... more

I walked by this place a few times while staying at Hotel Provincial a month prior, but this time wanted to bring my dog. They are pet-friendly. The only thing my dog didn't like was walking up the steep wooden stairs to our room, as she doesn't really see stairs like that in Florida! After there for a few days,... more

Words to describe Ursuline Guest House are ' cozy' 'friendly' and yeah, 'easy.' Like the City. Located perfectly on the downriver edge of the French Quarter, you've got everything at easy walking distance. And for a woman travelling alone, being here felt very safe -- not to be dismissed. The rooms and decor are basic, one might say shabby chic,... more

The Ursulines Guest House is a wonderful place to stay when in New Orleans. In the owners words it is a Quaint Antiquity and for its age it has held up well. This will be our home on any future trips to New Orleans. Located in the heart of the French Quarter just a half block off Bourbon Street it... more

My family (husband, Mom, niece and my 2 year old son) and I just returned from a 5 day stay at the Ursuline Guest House. Having never been to New Orleans before, we weren't sure what to expect, especially post-Katrina. Bill and Marlin greeted us like old friends, and I can't praise them enough! They went above and beyond the... more

We have just returned from a four day stay at the Ursuline Guest House. The guest house or bed and breakfast was a great disappointment. We occupied rooms 7 and 9 and the rooms were in desperate need of renovation, remodeling, a professional interior designer and cleaning. When we walked into room 7, we were greeted with a musty order,... more

At the Ursullines Guest House your daily cares will slip away as you enter another era. The first sip of wine at 6 PM in the courtyard where shadows caress memories will relax you. You are within an easy walk of the French Quarter where pleasure is the venue. Enjoy your morning coffee lounging in the courtyard or soaking in... more

Not too funky, not too fancy. Just right. Perfect for a relaxed and comfortable stay in the peaceful side of the French Quarter. Far enough away (yet conveniently short walking distance) from the always awake and alive (and often wild and noisy) Bourbon Street in one direction and the Marigny's Frenchman Street in the other direction. We stayed 5 nights... more

Ursulines Guest House was a real discovery for me. I usually stay at hotels around Bourbon street and a guest house was a real change. Bill welcomed us like old friends and really showed his hospitality. Next time I'll take the boat ride offer. Too bad we had to leave so soon. New Orleans needs everybody's help for its revival... more

We returned from New Orleans vowing to go back again soon. The Ursuline Guest House was a little worn around the edges, but we loved it. Very laid-back and relaxing. It is within walking distance of many fine restaurants, jazz clubs, and tourist attractions. The courtyard, the wine and cheese each night, the owner, Bill, and the manager, Marlin. What... more
