First what's great.... Location is excellent. Rooms are so beautiful, someone went to a lot of effort to make a pleasing design with nice furnishings. Beds were very very comfortable. Second mentions....the elevators weren't that bad. Last what's disappointing.....we had a major problem. I'm not going into the details because I am happy with how it was handled by management.... Dear Valued Guest: Thank you for taking time to review my hotel. I apologize for the issues you mentioned in your review. I was not made aware of any hot water issues over the dates of your stay. I really wish I had known while you were here so we could have fixed this for you. Please feel free to... More

I stayed here with my wife and 4 year old son for 4 nights as part of a road trip. We'd driven in from San Antonio so got there pretty late - we were grateful that check in was very quick. The valet parking was very expensive at $38 per night. The hotel is located right in the heart of... More

Stayed here for a long weekend. Great location on Royal - just off the corner of Canal Street and a block over from Bourbon. The rooms were very nice, beds comfortable and clean. Everyone talks about the elevator issue. Well, it's a constant problem! Staff made excuses as if this was an anomaly, an exceptionally busy weekend, but it wasn't.... More

Dear Lee: Thank you for taking time to review my hotel. We recognize that we do have an elevator problem. One cab is out of service and will be through March as part of our elevator modernization and upgrade. Once complete the elevator service will be something of the past. Parking in the French Quarter is expensive but I can... More

Even though this hotel changed ownership a few years ago (it used to be the Holiday Inn French Quarter), the service at this hotel is still outstanding. I stay at this same hotel every Thanksgiving weekend for the Bayou Classic festivities. Its one block away from Bourbon Street, and just around the corner from my favorite restaurant Acme Oyster House.... More

Thanks for your loyalty and patronage and we look forward to having you back the next time you visit New Orleans. Hopefully before Thanksgiving. :) More

I made a negative review for this hotel at one point because of the elevator situation. The elevators were always crowded and you had to wait 3-4 passes before being able to actually get on one. It seems as though this problem has been solved for the most part. However, I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 because of how... More

The room was very comfortable, and the staff very polite. Jeannie helped us with the room key situation. When we were ready to check out, after breakfast in the morning the key of the door was not working..We went 2 times to the front desk, they even gave us new keys, that didn't work either ..Jeannie got engineering personal to open... Top notch is always what I find at Wyndham. From the front desk to the valet parking everyone is pleasant and helpful. This will be my fourth stay and I would not go anywhere else in the French Quarter!

Right in the French Quarter - walking distance to most of the usual tourist attractions, Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, Cafe de Monde and the French Market. Very helpful staff, extremely comfortable beds and nice rooms. Mini safe in room, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. Elevators very slow always full - trying to catch our taxi to airport and unable... More

Dear Kate: Thank you for the nice review and scores but most important the mention of the helpful staff. Right in the heart of the French Quarter. Get a high room on the Canal Street side if noise bothers you. The Courtyard Rooms aren't that great, just a shared concrete patio... nothing special. Is a former Holiday Inn that is showing its age... but the staff is very special and makes up for it. The elevators are a little... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
