This is my third trip to New Orleans and my third stay at Hotel de la Monnaie. I really like this one! The location is fantastic - one block from the French Market, right beside Frenchman Street and just across the street from the street car stop! There is no noise problem in the rooms. Port of Call is just... More

We spent 7 days at this Hotel. We had a great time!! We couldn't have asked for a better location! Everything we wanted to see in New Orleans was within walking distance, or a short trolley ride away. The staff was very helpful and extremely nice. Delilah helped us with booking our tours and info on dining and shopping. Carmela... More

This is a good hotel at a reasonable rate. The decor is dated, but the maintenance is quite good. Internet was weak, but we were told it would be fixed "next week". Enjoyed the daily walks through the FQ and the streetcar is out the front door. We'll be back, ya'll!

This was the perfect quaint little hotel for our girls trip to New Orleans. The French Market and Streetcar stop were only one block away. Buy the $3.00, cash only, 24 hr pass and you can ride all of the the streetcars for an unlimited amount of times. They stop running around 9:00 pm, so if you are in the... More

This is an old hotel with a lot of charm. It is away from all the noise but really close to Frenchman Street which is a plus. There is a tram about a block away to take you closer to the main part of the French Quarter. Would stay here again. We had two bedrooms and a little kitchenette. Room... More

This hotel has a lot of pluses and few negatives. This was our first trip to New Orleans and the location couldn't have been better! The French market is a block away and streetcars are across the street. Frenchmen Street, where you can find lots of little clubs in the evening is a short distance as well. There is a... More

For those who complain about this charming historical hotel and suites.... show me a hotel in your town that was built in the late 1700's, and is in operation. We loved it. And it is a museum, as well as a hotel. The staff were most welcoming, friendly, and eager to help at all times. Daily housekeeping, replenished coffee, towels,... More

Stayed there the weekend prior to Mardi Gras--a very busy time in NOLA, and one of the many event periods where hotel rates soar. Our relatively late decision to go to NOLA greatly reduced our lodging options. The De la Monnaie was reasonably priced, in a great location at the edge of the French Quarter, giving easy access in and... More

When I read a review from someone about a place like this, and the person says they WON'T be back, I think, "Great! Makes it easier for me to get a reservation." Let's get this straight: Quaint means "old" and cozy means "small." Most of the suites are time-share related, so housekeeping might not be in every day. So if... More

Hotel de la Monnaie had one major issue that caused me to give it only two stars: lack of cleanliness. The air vents were filthy. Huge hunks of dust were hanging from them. I climbed up on a chair and cleaned them as best I could, but the mesh behind the vent grates were clogged with dust and I could... More
