This hotel has a lot of pluses and few negatives. This was our first trip to New Orleans and the location couldn't have been better! The French market is a block away and streetcars are across the street. Frenchmen Street, where you can find lots of little clubs in the evening is a short distance as well. There is a... More

For those who complain about this charming historical hotel and suites.... show me a hotel in your town that was built in the late 1700's, and is in operation. We loved it. And it is a museum, as well as a hotel. The staff were most welcoming, friendly, and eager to help at all times. Daily housekeeping, replenished coffee, towels,... More

Stayed there the weekend prior to Mardi Gras--a very busy time in NOLA, and one of the many event periods where hotel rates soar. Our relatively late decision to go to NOLA greatly reduced our lodging options. The De la Monnaie was reasonably priced, in a great location at the edge of the French Quarter, giving easy access in and... More

When I read a review from someone about a place like this, and the person says they WON'T be back, I think, "Great! Makes it easier for me to get a reservation." Let's get this straight: Quaint means "old" and cozy means "small." Most of the suites are time-share related, so housekeeping might not be in every day. So if... More

Hotel de la Monnaie had one major issue that caused me to give it only two stars: lack of cleanliness. The air vents were filthy. Huge hunks of dust were hanging from them. I climbed up on a chair and cleaned them as best I could, but the mesh behind the vent grates were clogged with dust and I could... More

First time in New Orleans and couldn't ask for a better situated hotel. Steps away from the French Quarter and public transportation. My wife and I stayed in a 1 bedroom unit. Unit kitchen was dated but bed and furniture were comfortable. One negative is the frequency of nearby overnight trains, will certainly wake you up if a light sleeper.... More

Just right ....we loved being at the edge of the French Quarter near Frenchman Street and the great blues district. Arrive early for best parking and enjoy the outdoor balcony area for a comfortable rest. You are within easy walk of the many great restaurants and adjacent to the end of the French Market. Rooms are very nice and Delilah... More

We used this hotel as a result of a timeshare trade. It was not our first choice, but we were happy with the hotel overall. The location is perfect to jump on a streetcar or get a taxi, and the staff were always friendly, helpful, and available. Yes, the decor is dated, and could use some updating. The kitchenette appliances... More

Perfect hotel for us. All the amenities and within easy walking distance of French Quarter. Great value. Terrific staff. Would definitely stay there again. Rooms very comfortable with a separate sitting area and kitchenette. Thought we would have more meals there but at least it gave us the option! Liked the fact it was an older building with inside courtyards.... More
