My five days in Audubon Park House Bed & Breakfast are sure to be counted among most pleasant and happy days a stranger can have in new place. The place is extremelly stylish, meeting each and every expectation you may have regarding traditional New Orleans culture. It is clean, convenient, cosy and plain splendid. The food is solid and diverse,... More

We had a great stay this past weekend at this charming B&B. Came into town for the Tulane game (vs UCF) and this was withing walking distance. Barbara was very knowledgeable and helpful during our stay (and Chico is too cute!). Great courtyard in the back and comfy beds. St. Charles street car line only 4 short blocks, $3 for... More

The best sleep in years, quiet and comfortable.. near the park, Magazine Street, St Charles Ave... Barbara is a charming knowledgable host. Great breakfasts. Chico, her Pomeranian is a great little ambassador of goodwill. We will be back to our new favorite place. Just can't stop the superlatives!!

Barbara is a charming and engaging hostess, and her B&B couldn't be more convenient to Tulane! We stayed during Homecoming/Parents Weekend of our son's senior year and only wish we had found Audubon Park House B&B sooner. We're glad the accounting program is a five-year program! The room was well appointed and spacious, and breakfast was plentiful. It was easy... More

This B&B is owner-occupied (nice woman named Barbara). It is a stately old home in Uptown ... a two-minute walk from Audobon Park, a ten-minute walk from Magazine Street (lots of cool shops along its entire stretch) and a 15-minute walk from St.Charles Street (and the streetcar). The neighborhood is quiet and family-oriented ... great for a nice stroll. The... More

Wonderful property with a great location. Only a few minutes from Tulane/Loyola,this would be a great location for parents, homecoming events, etc. the house is only two blocks from the park, and only a half mile from Magazine St. The proprietor is a charming lady, who has many wonderful stories. Can't lose here!

This B and B is the perfect antidote to huge anonymous hotels downtown. Barbara is lovely and clearly loves what she does. My room overlooked the back yard and was very peaceful. Breakfast was very good - plenty of variety, and plenty of coffee. :) I will be back on a regular basis!

My husband had to attend a party for his department at Tulane so we decided to stay overnight in New Orleans Saturday night. We really loved the bed in the king room. Barbara was so nice. We woke up Sunday morning, had a nice breakfast, and walked to Audubon Park like we used to when my husband lived there. We... More

We stayed this past weekend for 3 nights. It's clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient to Magazine, the park, etc. It's in a quiet neighborhood, not on a noisy street. Barbara was a great hostess and we enjoyed meeting her. I'm not sure how child-friendly the house is - full of antique things. I agree with other reviewers about the many... More

We have stayed here many times and I am always disappointed when Barbara is booked and can't have us. Location near park is just ideal. Quiet (we don't hear other guests). Solid house. Near streetcar, Magazine Street, universities, and good restaurants. Barbara is kind, open, helpful and I always feel at home. Beds comfy; rooms roomy; books to read; internet... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
