I should have walked out of this place the second i got there. Creepy staff, overpriced and when i got to my room is was disgusting. Figured we would just be crashing for a few nights and out all day for Mardi Gras so it'd be okay. Wrong. Woke up with bed bugs & the staff basically told me they... More

This is a really bad OMEN Waiting to happen really, the guests are never given receipts, and can be thrown out at a moments notice. The rats and roaches are severe. Their are very sketchy characters living there rent free and are really annoying harassers. No working smoke detectors. flooding toilets etc. it's a Lawsuit in the making really really... More

I booked a bed in a female dormitory, because the prices were cheap. It didn't end up being the best decision in my life to stay in this hostel. Well, the location was easy to reach, it was nearby supermarket and restaurants. With streetcar, or even by walking, it took about 30 minutes to get to French Quarter. But the... More

I tend to not believe the reviews for hostels, because it seems like not everyone knows what they're in for when they book a hostel. However, for this hostel the reviews were spot on, and I wish we would have listened. We were a large group of 20 people, so we got out own little "house". That, the decent location... More

i stayed at the Marquette for two nights. Everything except reception was VERY DIRTY, I was given two flat sheets for the bed, not even a fitted sheet (don't worry, that's just the beginning). The air conditioner literally rotted out of the windowsill my first night there (there was literally a HOLE in the second floor story wall). The place... More

Stayed there for Mardi Gras for two nights because all the other hostels were full. Prices were higher than usual (as anywhere in NOLA during that time of year). The building looks good from the outside but the inside is quite disappointing. Bathrooms were particularly dirty, and there were only two showers for a dorm of 18... There were two... More

I stayed at Marquette House for one night because all the other hostels in New Orleans were booked. If I was in that situation again, I might be tempted to blow the budget and stay in a hotel. I suspect this might once have been a decent place, but it's now well past its peak, catering more to long-term guests... More

I stayed here for 2 nights because the reputable hostels were booked. Though the location was ideal (garden district), everything else was sub par. They really need to clean the place up! Also, the staff should be a little more friendly.

We went to this hostel having read all the awful reviews of it as everywhere else we tried was full up. Though we arrived at 12ish but the office was shut until 5pm we were a little bit worried if we'd perhaps end up having trouble finding somewhere to sleep that night but fortunately they have a massive car park... wifi only works infront of the hostel and across the street, it doesn't work anywhere IN the hostel! I stayed in a room where people from at least 3 other rooms had to cut through to go to the bathroom which was next to our room without a door seperating these rooms. unfriendly staff at front desk, cealing above my...
