Location is fantastic. LOVED IT!!! Not in the thick of the Bourbon Street craziness but close enough to it. Equally close to Frenchman Street.Easy walk to most all sights and right near the trolly line to shorten your walk if you so choose. Parking was inexpensive compared to other hotels. At the quieter end of the quarter, the traffic (car... More

What a treat! The hotel sets the tone for the French Quarter experience. We didn't want sleek and fancy, but a historic experience. So close to all the delightful venues of the Quarter. And so nice to have breakfast to start the day

Not the river. Probably the hotel's copywriter. You want the river? Old French Market? Decatur? 'Jazz street' in Frenchman's? Stay here. But not solely after reading the hotel's copy and blurb. Well over cooked. Nonetheless, the hotel staff was good, and especially in the clean up of a small accident which shed some blood. In the room, first find the... More

Arrived here after driving for two days across Louisiana on a road trip through the south. Nice old historic building in a quiet area of town. The reception was nice but the room was far too small for three international travellers with lots of luggage. We were given a room with two queen beds that was about 20ft square. There... More

Thanks for the feedback here on TripAdvisor. As a historic hotel, our rooms are definitely on the smaller side. That being said, I will definitely figure our a system so that we can store extra bags for guests with additional luggage. I appreciate the review and hope you enjoyed New Orleans. Good value for money given how much you can often pay in NOLA. The courtyard is lovely and check-in and parking process good. Rooms are musty with paper-thin walls. We had a group of inconsiderate college kids keep us up all night 2 nights in a row. The location is fantastic - 2 blocks from Jackson Sq.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband in late July. A group of our friends stayed down the street at the Lafitte Guest House. By the time we got around to booking our own room, there were none available at LGH so we chose to stay at the Chateau Hotel (2 blocks away). The hotel had everything we... More

This hotel is nice. Very pretty courtyard. I enjoyed my 2 night stay. Parking is $20 a day in a private lot. Check in and out took a few minutes. Breakfast consists of your choice of breads, fruit, and drinks. Walls are paper thin.

We stay every year! Have stayed in different rooms each time. It is an older very NOLA type of Hotel. The bedding is updated and comfortable. It is clean and the staff is always friendly. Located perfectly in the French Quarter. 1 1/2 blocks to French Market and the Trolley. 1 1/2 block from Jackson Square and 2 blocks from... More

When we booked this hotel I don't think we really clocked just how central it is. Brilliant spot in the heart of the French quarter but not in a loud street and at a decent price. The hotel has loads of character given its age- brilliant courtyard and pool to relax in. Valet Parking was appreciated at about $20 a... More

In the heart of the French Quarter--perfect location for being close to the party-action without being right in it. If you like quaint and historic (but with electricity and plumbing) at a very fair price, this hotel can not be beat. Rooms are a good size and scrupulously clean; amenities work well; courtyard and swimming pool provide a delightful haven... More
