We visited New Orleans for Jazz Fest. Hampton Inn had a block of rooms at a Jazz Fest rate so that helped when booking the hotel. It was pricey, but I'm sure it was because of Jazz Fest. At any rate, when we walked into the hotel, I was deeply disappointed. The lobby was nothing special at all. In fact,... More

All the usual hotel facilities, but nothing special. Let down by 2 out of 4 elevators out of order, telephone not working and faulty bathroom plumbing. Breakfast is a bit of a scrum and expect queues at Reception. Redeemed by comfortable beds and good location.

During our visit, with key customers in attendance, we were notified upon return to the room that there would be no water available from 10pm to 6am due to the city working on the piping. When you stay at a hotel, usually tow things are taken for granted.... a bed and a shower. Take away the shower after visiting Bourbon... More

Hi John! I am so sorry that you were not notified at check in. We do put notices in every guest room, in addition to advising them at check in with a notice at the front desk upon check in. Unfortunately in the past, these utility companies do it and then give us notice, but thank goodness this time they... More

This Hampton Inn was quite a pleasant surprise from the other Hampton Inns where we have stayed. It is around the corner from the French Quarter in the Central Business District. You can easily walk a few blocks and you are in the French Quarter. There is a trolley stop on the corner, as well. There is valet parking in... More

Greetings from New Orleans on this fine first weekend of Jazz Fest! I am so pleased that you enjoyed your visit to the city. I also think the hotel is a prime location for most anything at all you want to do. Many people are so surprised when they walk in and see the size of the rooms here; it's... More

First let me say the location of this hotel is perfect, near everything, but not in the quarter. Our room had 2 queens, 4 huge windows, living room, desk and dressing area and large bath. It was more like a suite than a room. We usually stay at smaller boutique hotels in New Orleans, so I was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful... More

Well I am so happy that you ventured out of the Quarter to find a hotel; I'm even more happy that you thought your room was nicer than you expected. I do apologize about the elevators; we are in the process of having them repaired. We just finished a multi-million dollar renovation, and the elevators were last on the list.... More

Want to see New Orleans. This hotel is close to everything. The staff is very friendly and will make your stay so enjoyable. The rooms are very large. If you can stay close to the top floor for a view of the city

I am usually not a fan of Hampton inns, but this was one of the nicest ones I've stayed in. Upon arrival our room as not ready so we asked the front desk clerk, Robin for some suggestions for lunch. She pointed out a restaurant to get authentic Cajun cuisine and said it was only a couple of blocks away,... More

I booked this hotel in hopes of walking to and from the French Quarter during our stay. Upon checking in,however, the ever so helpful and kind person at the desk assured me that the French Quarter area was "safe", but added upon further questioning that two women had been assaulted the night before within blocks of the hotel. I realize... More

Stayed 7 nights at this hotel, very large clean room with vaulted ceilings, very comfortable beds. Breakfast room was neat and clean, varied selection each morning, did repeat over the seven days. Ideally located, around the corner from Canal Street. Carondelet St turns into Bourbon Street as you cross Canal Street. Easy walk to everywhere, the one block from Bourbon... More

IF you need to be downtown and aren't driving a vehicle this property could be for you. Very nice location in the heart of the financial district. Will have to walk a few blocks for restaurants and take the 'street car', which stops very close to the property.
