Thoughtful and formally polite B&B that does well to transport the guest to a different time in New Orleans. Enchanting surroundings, staff that is warm yet professional and a great location and value that would be hard to beat. more

From the moment we were greeted by Frank, the general manager, on the front porch until we departed two days later, our stay was more than we'd hoped for. Our suite had grace and southern charm, the breakfasts were 'to-die-for' and the property is lovely. On-property parking is definitely an added plus. The only downside, as mentioned in other reviews,... more

We stayed here two nights during the Essence Festival weekend. Initially we wanted to stay in the French Quarter, but by the time I tried to make reservations, everything moderately priced was already booked. The House on Bayou Road was not listed anywhere I was searching (mainly AAA tourbook), it was recommended to me by a local. And it was... more

Even though we were only able to stay one night our stay was quite enjoyable. It began with an evening arrival and a warm welcome from Frank who graciously showed us to our very spacious and well-appointed room, the Barataria Suite. The room had some really nice details including comfy linens, grand furniture and even a convenient little fridge .... more

Beautiful historic house, huge garden, and Frank seems to be one of the most gracious hosts in the South. Plus: Immaculate, lush breakfast in a room full of antique paintings, carefully chosen furniture and fresh flowers. more

Frank, the innkeeper was very attentive, the rooms (we had a little cottage) were beautifully decorated, the pool was lovely, the grounds delightful - cute baby chicks and cats co-mingled without acrimony. Breakfast was first rate and other guests were there to visit with. Location is a bit removed from the French Quarter which made it peaceful and it was... more

The House on Bayou Road is an excellent choice. Our room was lovely and the main house is a beautiful late 1800s estate. The staff goes out of their way to assist with reservations, travel plans, etc. And the STANDOUT feature is the amazing cooking school that is hosted in the estate's kitchen. Amazing chefs, amazing food, and a great... more

came to town for a leisurely weekend away from it all. What a delight it was. Loved the cozy room. Ambiance was 100% wonderful. The property is fenced for private parking and appreciated that. the breakfast was divine. Frank and the staff were always there to answer questions with a smile & helpful information about activities in N.O. What a... more

The House on Bayou Road is spectacular, the ambiance is peaceful and calming, the history of the home is fascinating, the rooms are beautifully appointed and to top it off the eggs benedict was delicious with a presentation second to none. Frank, the property manager was extremely pleasant and accommodating in every way. No request was too much; we were... more
