My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in June 2015 for our anniversary. From beginning to end, our whole experience was amazing! Jill is a wonderful host. Very sweet, and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The courtyard is beautiful. It's also within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and bars on magazine street.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Chimes. The accommodations were perfect - comfortable, spotlessly clean, and the hospitality of the hosts was beyond compare. We were greeted with ample information about New Orleans which helped us greatly with our touring plans. The ample and delicious breakfasts were served in a lovely dining room that afforded fun... Jill has a wonderful home in the Garden District that she shares with her guests. Morning breakfast delicious and healthy. Breakfast is a daily event where guests share their adventures with each other and pump Jill for information from the local point of view. The rooms and comfortable and each one is unique. It really made our New Orleans trip... More

We stayed at the Chimes for 5 nights and were treated to a beautiful B&B off the beaten path in a beautiful neighborhood with easy access to local favorites for food, music, history, outdoors, art, bicycle tours, and more. Jill and Charles, our hosts, were beyond hospitable and provided us with a great breakfast , interesting and engaging conversation, and... More

Stayed four nights. Fun breakfasts with lots of conversation with other guests. Walking distance to several top restaurants. Jill is a great hostess with lots of good advice about everything. Rooms are separate from the main house, so good privacy. Nice courtyard.

We had a wonderful stay from start to finish. Our room was spacious and the bed was sooo comfy. It was truly a home away from home. Jill. Every morning we spent over an hour enjoying interesting conversation with Jill and the other guests. Jill is adept at moving conversation along and getting people talking. We were aware of the... It was a sincere pleasure to stay at the Chimes. Jill and Charles we're welcoming to the extreme. We were in NOLA for our daughter's wedding a roaring success but stressful. The venue for her wedding (another B&B) was stress central with an evil queen manager. To return to the Chimes after a day of that person and to feel... More

Our stay at Chimes felt like a retreat at Jill's fabulous home. The room is quaint and housed a wrought iron queen bed with cozy linens. My husband and I stayed in the smallest room, but we managed to have 3 suitcases and laptop and were snug but comfy. The bathroom was roomy nicely appointed luscious towels & makeup ones... More

This is our second visit to the Chimes, and I'm happy to report that we enjoyed it as much as our first. Jill is a terrific host and great conversationalist who knows the city intimately and tailors recommendations to the unique interests of her guests. Breakfast is outstanding, rooms are very well-appointed, and the outdoor area is as charming as... More

We stayed in the carriage house at the Chimes on this trip, our second in one year. We had an excellent stay with Jill and company. Breakfast was laid back and conversation was stimulating. The carriage house is tastefully decorated, comfortable for three/four people. Location is close to St Charles street car and Magazine Street shops/restaurants. Jill is an outstanding... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
