We stayed for 2 nights,  in a cold January weather, in a room for 2.  Location of the hotel is good.  Room is nice but the basic requirement from a hotel of any level - hot water in the room was missing.   After the first 5 minutes shower,   the second guest of the room did not have hot water for... My husband first noted the hotel's reference in the book " A 1000 Places To Visit Before I Die".Of course, we were intrigued which of course led to research. Well. . . . .we were immediately hit by the perfect . . . and I mean perfect, New Orleans ambiance surrounding the hotel and its courtyards. The location was within... More

We recently visited the Soniat House while on a brief holiday break with our two kids (14/16 yrs) and can't wait to return. Despite arriving after dark, from the minute we stepped into the magical courtyard, we knew we had made the right choice. This is a beautiful and authentic french quarter boutique hotel where we were happy to get... More

I truly enjoyed my vacation at the Soniat House. I was there for Halloween and after for a total of 11nights. It was just super. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Excellent service and I truly loved the character, the style and the hotel decor. Charming building, lovely balcony, serene street. I loved all people working there. I truly... More

I recently stayed at the Soniat House Hotel for a few days during Photo NOLA and I have to say that was generally underwhelmed and disappointed by the experience. I travel a lot and frequently stay at all manner of luxury hotels in the US and abroad and while this hotel was charming in some respects, there was a real... More

Their cancellation policy is absolutely ridiculous -- no changes within 30 days of arrival! We could not make it as it turns out because my girlfriend got sick. They would not allow any change to the reservation, or make any concession whatsoever. No, they charged the entire $800 to my credit card for a 2 night stay! The hotel was... More

While a charming hotel with lots of character, you may not want to stay here if you are not in good shape or want a better bang for your buck. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor, so you will have to walk up and down the classic looking staircase. If you should get a room on the third... More

It is obvious from earlier reviews that lots of people out there love the Soniat House but no hotel can please everyone. Everything that you say is true. The elevator is small and slow but we are not a new construction high-rise . We are an 1830 home. It is the only type of elevator available to us. It services... More

What a delightful place to spend in New Orleans. The service and the rooms were wonderful. The breakfast, which is available until 11:30 pm, is beautifully served and the biscuits are to die for. the location could not be better. Highly recommend staying here.

This historic boutique hotel is located in the heart of French quarter. Central enough but away from the bustling and lively bourbon St, the Soniat house is a real gem. Quiet and romantic, the room we booked was located on the ground floor facing the courtyard, beautifully decorated with period pieces and we felt right at home. The staff is... More

The Soniat House fulfills every fantasy one could have of a French Quarter hotel arranged around its perfect and quiet courtyard. Rooms are charmingly decorated, luxurious, spacious, and utterly unique. I would stay nowhere else: having been graced with past stays in one of the Soniat House's best suites I would decline to return to New Orleans if there was... More
