This was a privately owned "B&B" which was sold to a "company" wherein the owner is not on site. The beauty of the property has slipped. HOWEVER - it appears that the manager and his staff are putting a lot of effort into moving the owner along in making repairs and doing some of the spit-and-polish that are necessary. That... More

This hotel was OK, it served it's purpose for a one-night pre-cruise stay. It's location is great, about a block from the bar district & Bourbon St in the French Quarter. The rooms themselves are super old, and it is truly no-frills. It's like staying in a house built in 1920 that was split into rooms, because that's pretty much... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here during Jazz Fest weekend and picked it primarily for its convenient location and decent price. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but the hotel's facilities are in desperate need of improvement and the staff's service left a lot to be desired. Upon arriving, I was disappointed to see that there was a stain on... More

I've stayed at New Orleans Guest House twice now. A little bit of luxury close to the French Quarter with a very reasonable price. The staff, Wendy and Philip are very helpful and the rooms are tidy and ornately decorated. Beautiful old house and courtyard. Breakfast included to set you up for the day. Highly recommend.

This joint is a faded, overpriced hostel on Ramparts needs to get with the program. For what one pays, one might expect working WIFI and ICE! Come on, it's NOLA in summer. Our room had dirty carpet and shabby bed sheets. Staff was friendly enough, but not willing to get ice for customers. Great location for stuff going on in... More

I really can't do justice to how bad our stay was in this awful, dirty guest house. I was sick for a week after we left resulting from the mould and mildew allergens in our room. The room reeked. When I complained it fell on deaf ears. When I complained again and asked if there had been water damage to... More

Although not directly in the French Quarter, the facility is on the other side of the street. A quick 3 block walk will bring you to Bourbon Street. We felt safe to walk from the facility to Frenchman Street and anywhere in the Quarter. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Loved the architecture of the home... More

While others appear to be disappointed with new management from new owners, I found my second stay for consecutive years at Jazz Fest to continue all the good qualities as before - of course minus the great guys who owned and operated it before. Funky yes, dirty no. Staff was very helpful and very pleasant. The "breakfast" is more a... More

I have stayed at the New Orleans guest house about three times prior to this stay, maybe four. I chose it for its convenient location near some friends in the neighborhood. I always enjoyed the owners Ray and Alvin and found it charming, well kept albeit funky, and a decent price. This year I returned for the Jazz Fest and... More

The pictures of the New Orleans Guest House are very dated. What looks clean and charming is actually tired, and dirty. No air conditioning in our room, rug was filthy and never vacuumed the 3 days we stayed. The bed was old and broken along with pillows that resembled a brick in a pillowcase. A great location, and the staff... More
