We stayed here over Mardi Gras. The hotel was in the perfect location to catch the parades and provided bathroom access. The staff was excellent - friendly and knowledgable. No complaints about the rooms...size was adequate and accommodations were clean. Would definitely stay here again and recommend highly.

We stayed here the weekend of March 8-11, 2013. The hotel was very well maintained and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the 21 st floor, king bed corner room with river view. The is no real view of the river, only between two tall buildings. The reason I mention this is that they said river... More

This is a nice hotel in a great location. Not noisy at night and centrally located in French Quarter. The doormen were wonderful and entire staff was very friendly. Andrew, the concierge, was excellent. We followed several of his recommendations and they were happy with each one; from dining, to sightseeing, to entertainment. I would definitely stay here again.

This is really a first class property. From the beautiful rooms, to the incredible staff, to the breathtaking lobby this was an amazing hotel! I felt as though not one of our (many) requests was unimportant to their staff, kudos to an amazing hotel!!

This hotel is in an ideal location for families who want to stay near the French Quarter. We just concluded a family reunion stay with four small children. Kimberly and Gracie were so awesome in checking us in and making sure our rooms and stay were the best for our reunion. William was also indispensable in making us feel like... More

I was originally due to stay at Courtyard hotel. Due to hurricane my arrival was delayed and the entire booking was cancelled by Courtyard and they were fully booked, so could not offer me a room. It was around midnight and they referred me to the JW Marriott next door. The staff at JW Marriott were extremely helpful and even... More

Very clean, comfortable hotel. Great workout facility, with a housekeeper who tidied up after each use of a machine, wiping down, changing the towels, etc. Fruited water available all day in the lobby. Kind and helpful staff. Excellent location. I did not eat in the hotel, so can't comment there.

We stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel the week of February 24th - 6 nights. Great location, close to the French Quarter and walking distance to many of the tourist attractions. The room was large and very comfortable. The Hotel staff were always very polite and helpful. Highly recommend. Restaurant and Bar - great service. Breakfast was very good (expect... More

This hotel is well appointed for a business traveler who wants access to the French Quarter and the convention center. It is a little bit of a hike to the convention center, which would be on the sweaty side when it is warm and humid. However, during my stay it was cool and there was free bus service to the... More

Dear gad38, We're so glad you found everything you needed and more while staying at the JW Marriott on business. A friend of mine and I stayed here for a girl's weekend and it was great. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and in a great location - my only complaint is the outrageous parking charges. $35 per night.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
