The air conditioning was poor with no control. No hot water on the third floor. The floors were filthy, had not been vacuumed or cleaned in a long time. It was obvious they had not moved furniture to clean in at least a year. The linens where worn. We checked out within 45 minutes. I would not stay here. I... More

The room was filthy, dust on very ledge and surface, a condom wrapper under night table. Breakfast is supposed to be served. On Friday morning I woke up to get coffee, there was none. Nor any food. I went to the front desk and was told to bring a receipt in and we would get a credit for breatkfast. Sat... More

We had a room in the slave quarters and it was dirty. carpet had food and stuff on the floor- wore sandels instead of being barefoot. Ceiling fan was dripping w/... More

On our first trip to New Orleans, I had only one reference point to determine where I wanted to stay, which is (sadly) New Orleans Square in Disneyland of my youth. After reading many hotel and b&b descriptions, Lafitte Guest House fit the bill of the perfect place to stay in the French Quarter, with the classic townhouse & wrought... More

We booked a room a Lafitte Guest House in early December and, of course, had to put a deposit on our credit card. Our plans changed and we had to cancel the reservation on Dec. 18th - WELL WITHIN their policy for full refund of our deposit. We still (as of February 22) have not been refunded our deposit. Repeated... More

This was my first trip to New Orleans and I like to stay in guesthouses and BnB's for the local charm and I don't care for the cookie cutter hotels. I noticed some complaints here, but nothing too outrageous and it seemed like folks didn't expect it to be a guesthouse. It's not contemporary, it's classic and charming. I stayed... More

I won't evaluate, I'll just give an explicit description my room: Stains on the bedspread, termite droppings on the stairwell, rotted wood on the baseboards, water stains on the ceiling and walls, dried yellow stains on the toilet seat at check-in, blue masking tape holding together cracked bathroom window, lamps that had no outlet nearby to plug in, paper thin... Rooms did not look like what was posted, Bedding cheap and old looking. We were moved to another room due to their inability to heat the room, had to leave the hotel due to the cold. Clerk was wearing gloves, scarf and coat, one door had blanket over it to keep the chill out. Hole in window was taped with... More
