My now husband and I stayed here 4 nights last week while in the quarter to get married. We enjoyed the convenience to the quarter and Frenchmen's street and the lovely view over the roof tops. The receptionists (all of them) could not have been more helpful or kind. This is not a place that you would stay if you... More

Hotel is not like your usual modern Best Western or Marriott. Everything is a bit old and tired but it is all clean. It is also in a very convenient and quiet location. Another reason to stay here is one receptionist, Barbara. She will try her best to make your stay comfortable. My husband and I found the mattress to... More

We stayed at the Villa Convento for what turned out to be ten wonderful days in February, 2014. The hotel is small and charming with lots of character and sense of place and history--which is exactly what we were looking for in our New Orleans stay. Yes, the elevator is old and slow. Yes, the place is careworn and has... More

harming boutique hotel with a lot of history (it used to be a brothel...ask Barbara!), that feels very authentic and cozy. Online booking was easy; and per a note that I included in my booking, they upgraded us room to a Courtyard room since we were celebrating a birthday. The price was reasonably ($115/night excluding taxes), especially for the excellent... More

It's not very fancy, It is very old, and has tons of character. An inexpensive place to sleep, in just the right spot. Close enough to the action, but far enough to be able to get away from it. I liked the French Market being so close. The staff and other guests were all so friendly, it was a very... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Villa Convento. It was close to everything we wanted to do in the French Quarter. Recommendations made by staff were much appreciated too! Thank you to Barbara for the extra time she took to assure our family had a memorable visit ~ Shandy & family from Kansas 😊

My girlfriend and I stayed here for few days around New Years. Place was great: reasonably priced, great location in a quiet stretch of the French Quarter (being across the street from a great cafe helps), aesthetically interesting (unusual outdoor back staircase in back with small well arranged rooms created a great atmosphere) , and most of all had a... My fiance and I just returned from a 3-night stay at this hotel. While the decor is dated and the hallways could use a fresh coat of paint, the service was wonderful and the price cannot be beat. The hotel is in the French Quarter but enough of a distance from the cacophony of Bourbon Street so no sleep was... More

If you can overlook the decor of this old somewhat rundown little hotel, you will find a diamond in the rough!!! What makes this place worth staying is the location, and the people who work there. The customer service is top notch!!! The whole staff is incredible, however, Barbara is an absolute JOY to deal with. Our room was small... More

My stay at this historic creole townhouse in February in the French Quarter was fantastic. The hotel itself is very unique but needs some TLC. However, no one comes to this town to remain shut up in their room. There are many great food venues nearby and of course the great music from Frenchman street a few blocks away. This... More
