We were looking forward to staying at a quaint family run hotel but we couldn't have been more disappointed. My friend arrived the day before I did and was offered room 104 off of the courtyard, instead of the 2nd floor room that we were originally suppose to stay in. Since this seemed reasonable, she agreed. What a disaster!! It... More

My first stay in this little gem. Yes there are some very simple things that can be done to update and give this little hotel an excellent rating but not matter, I would stay here again in a heartbeat! If you are looking for the big chain type hotels this is not the place for you. We wanted something very... More

I have stayed here several times over the years, but my most recent visit 2 weeks ago I will always remember. After driving 5 hours from Shreveport, I arrived to check in and my wallet was missing! We had to drive back to Breaux Bridge to get it-and that was after I cancelled our credit cards. My bank was to... More

Last week was my third stay at the Hotel Villa Convento and am looking forward to returning. As I have said in previous reviews, this hotel is not for everyone. You will either love it or hate it. Here are the pluses (and they far outway the minuses): 1. Located on a very quiet street near the edge of the... More

I love this place we stayed there last year for Easter and did the same this year. If you love old New Orleans then you will love this, we had room 300 which is a balcony room even though it was small who cares the bed was great and part of the walls was the original brick. It is only... More

It was New Year's Day, and friends were staying here. I was driving in for the night, and they were able to get me a room. The staff was accomodating for me on only staying one night (they had a two-night minimum usually). But the room - which opened into a courtyard - was just above awful. Old, been a... More

I was a little hesitant of staying here, reserving at the last minute for St. Patrick's Day weekend. When i arrived i was surprised to see how many "foo-foo uppity rich women" (as my husband put it) demanding the woman at the front desk's attention. As my husband reasoned "if they are staying here, then it cant be that bad".... More

When staying the French Quarter, you have to keep in mind that modern amenities are not always at your disposal. Sometimes it's nice to step away from every day life and immerse yourself in all that New Orleans has to offer. Hotel Villa Convento is just the place to rest your head after that awesome day of taking in all... More

I've stayed in some pretty horrible hotels in New Orleans on several trips, and this is by far the best hotel for the best price in the French Quarter. It's old. It's brick. If you want a hotel room with impeccable rooms & linens, 500 cable channels don't stay here and don't expect to spend less than $300 a night... More

Great off-Bourbon St location so sleep a good possibility until the early morning garbage trucks, a scourge of the French Quarter. Well-located across the street from a very good and beautiful bakery or one block from a Community Coffee store. Avoid the elevator which is ancient if you can or send up the luggage separately. Some of the rooms are... More
