We stayed in this motel on our way to Apostel Island in June The attendant behind the counter was very freindly - but due to an over whelming number of people that had all arrived at the same time the check in was a bit slow ( understandly so ) The room was clean - nice beds - and extra... more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while attending a convention in Madison. We chose this hotel based on some positive online reviews and photos of the property which gave us the impression that it was a very new hotel. While the staff was friendly, we did have some serious issues with this place. First off, we reserved... more

The property is located off the Interstate and relatively near Madison. The access to the hotel is (at least in winter) best described as a 1 mile motocross course meandering through cow pastures to return to a point near your exit point from the interstate. There are no restaurants in proximity. The property is older but reasonably kept. Management is... more

The hotel was nice. The staff was great. But the hotel location leaves a lot to be desired. If you are in to motorcycles, there is a large Harley dealer right next door. Highway noise could be a problem. The morning staff was great. Despite my problems with [--](I will never ever use [--]again.), the morning staff was understanding and... more

We've stayed here a couple of times while traveling on I-90, and been satisfied each time. Rooms are decent, breakfast, while simple, gets us going in the morning, there's a small pool, and free internet access. The only issue is the location. While it's right off I-90 and hwy 12, there's really nothing of interest anywhere around. It is a... more

The hotel is fairly new, and does look nice. However it lacks little things that makes your stay better. The front doors are ones you have to push open, which is not easy while pushing a luggage cart. I requested a non-smoking room, and recieved a room that smelled of stale smoke. The pool was dirty, as was the hottub.... more

There for a Univ. of Wisconsin graduation weekend; party was 2 adults and pre-school child. The time of stay forced us to go a little further from campus than we would've liked, but it was convenient by car to everywhere we wanted to be. Stay at the Wingate was good to very good in all regards-- rooms, cleanliness, service, rate... more

We spent one night there as we were heading to Chicago. The room was comfortable but the beds are only doubles. Queens would have been nicer. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool had way too much chlorine in it though and was burning everyones eyes. The free breakfast was just fine. There was a large group there that... more

I stayed here for one night on a trip from Chicago to the Twin Cities. The hotel is not brand new, but the place was well run, had very nice rooms and was very clean. It was easy to tell that the employees worked hard at maintaining the hotel. Our room had very nice furniture, was large and comfortable and... more

I stayed at the Wingate in Madison because I was attending a wedding that weekend. We were greeted courteously and very quickly upon check-in. Their shuttle bus driver was really great. The rooms were big and clean - just perfect. The complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning was terrific. I can't think of anything negative to say about the Wingate! more
