Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The bed was good, not as good as other HI's. The bathroom was small but functional. The small fridge in the room rattled most of the night so I unplugged it. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. The free drinks and cheese were nice (but only available on weekdays). The breakfast was a little better than average. However, the pool was painfully cold. The staff (politely) disavowed any responsibility for the pool, blaming a contractor. more

Traveled through Madison, Wi in May 2008 with a work crew and we booked 4 rooms with this hotel and all the rooms were nice and clean. The hotel staff was also very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. more

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Madison and had an interesting experience. My room had a peculiar odor (like burnt pork) and the manager sprayed some deoderizer to kill the smell.
