We stayed at the Lowell Center for four days while moving our daughter into her apartment. It was a surprisingly good experience. The location can’t be beat for anyone visiting the downtown area. You are in the heart of State St, fraternity/sorority row, and several private dorms. We paid $109 (which is about $100/night cheaper then the nearest hotel) for... More

I stayed at the Lowell Center for one night while visiting the University with family. Pros: Big Pool! Great Hot Breakfast. Perfect Location. Near Lake, Wisconsin Union Terrace, State Street. Free Wifi. So-So: Most room sizes are modest. Limited Parking ($10/night). The location is difficult to beat. Just a block off of State Street, a short walk to the WI... More

Didn't want to write this review until this morning, when we knew our important mails were returned back to the post office after been told before we left this hotel that they would hold the mails for us, and it's been put down to the system. It's been very bad experience staying here for 3 weeks. We were relocating from... More

Great place to stay in Madison. My room was a reasonable size. It was clean and quiet. It might be a little tight for two people if you plan on staying inn the room a lot. But, i really only slept there. The free breakfast was very good. Much better than the usual free breakfasts at chain hotels. They even... More

We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel close to UW-Madison for a quick weekend visit. Lowell Hall was a very good choice. While the facility resembles an old dormitory (it was), our upgraded room was comfortable with a nice view of Lake Mendota. There was only a shower in the bathroom, but that was fine with us. The location... More

I stayed at the Lowell Center for 2 nights with my husband for my brother's graduation. It's a very convenient location; Camp Randall was the farthest thing I had to go to at about a 25 minute walk. It used to be a dorm, and it definitely took me back to my college days! The rooms are very small, and... More

Great location. Just blocks from State Street and all the little shops. Attended a conference there. Close to everything. However, the room thermostat is NOT CONTROLLED by you. Its controlled by the hotel. A beautiful 66 plus degrees outside and our room read 75.5 throughout the day and night. After 7 attempts to get someone to come and fix it,... More

I stayed at the Lowell center for 3 nights during a UW-Madison sponsored conference. This building was built to be a women's dorm and served that purpose for only 5 years before it became university office space. A few years ago it was remodeled again and now serves as a lodging for people attending campus events. Be aware that the... More

This is the perfect place to stay if you have anything going on at UW Madison. Clean, pretty, quiet room. Fantastic breakfast... Far superior to most hotel breakfasts. We parked in their lot for a small fee and could walk everywhere we needed to go. Would stay again!

The hotel appears to be newly renovated and is in a great location right downtown close to everything that you could need on campus. There were a few issues though that account for an average rating. The room was small (works well for one person), there was zero shower pressure, my tv was going in and out, and the continental... More
