***** Excellent food!! A taste of the Southwest with a variety of wonderful homemade meals. Certainly the highlight of Kelly Place. ** Accomodations...so, so -- heat/ventilation needs work. Some complained their rooms were cold, but in our room we had a ceiling fan going all night and never called for heat despite 30 degree overnight temps. Also, imagine towels not... more

I chose Kelly Place after consulting Lonely Planet and on the recommendation of our Travel Agent but was most disappointed, this is the only B&B that we have stayed at in the US that did not make up our bed, empty the waste bins or offer clean towels after they have been used. The location, some 10 miles along a... more

We booked Kelly Place because the reviews on Trip Advisor were so enthusiastic. We were disappointed. The owners were MIA and missed the opportunity to provide the guests with the local information and warm hospitality that is usual in a B&B setting. There were many maintenance issues, our bed was uncomfortable, and the breakfast was just OK. Unless you are... more

What a great experience. Nice people, we felt home right away. Great room and great breakfast. And besides that the area is just beautiful. I regret we could only stay for 2 nights. more

Kelly Place is the place to go if you want to do more than the typical tourist things in the Four Corners area. It is not just a place to stay -- it is a place to experience. Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan) ruins are right on their property. Check out their web site, (--) for a description of the accommodations and... more

Kelly Place is a unique, quiet B&B , nestled along McElmo Creek west of Cortez, Colorado. It is a great base camp to visit Mesa Verde and the new Canyons of the Ancients National Park (which it borders). Pleasant (but not fancy) rooms, great breakfasts, nearby canyons with ruins for hiking, a knowledgeable staff, and quiet and peace are its... more

This lodge is ten miles down a side road near Cortez and is often used by elderhostel or other groups interested in Indian archaeology (there are several Ancient Puebloan sites on the property). It's marvellous as a place to "slow down" in the middle of a hectic trip. Friendly owners and an excellent breakfast at a communal table offer the... more
