We loved Kelly Place it is in a beautiful location and we had the 2 bedroom lodge which was fully equipped for cooking (not that we did that???) Beautifully clean and very comfortable, the view from the rooms and patio are sensational. Breakfast is in the main building and is communal and served by Marc and his staff we stayed... More

Thank you for your extensive and very positive review. We are glad you had such a wonderful time at Kelly Place! We are sorry, however, that the one thing marring your stay became the overwhelming headline for your review. Please note that, when you arrived at 2 PM, I was in the kitchen cooking dinner for the group that was... More

This place is cool because it's on property with Anasazi ruins. They are really cool. You can hike forever here, although we just did a short jaunt. We got the room with a queen and two sets of bunk beds, which was perfect for our for kids. They loved it. They had fun in the room even with no TV,... More

Thank you for your review! We appreciate when guests take the time to give us feedback. We would like to clarify one point: We do charge for "babies" age 3 and over. We do not charge for babies age 2 and younger. I know. We had one guest who insisted her 9-year old was her baby! I don't want to... More

Four of us stayed at Kelly's Place and LOVED it. The setting was absolutely beautiful. We did the self-guided tour of the on-site Indian ruins and trails. The breakfast was delicious and our room was very comfortable. If you want peace and tranquility, this is the place!

This is an older property tucked into a valley just outside of Cortez. There are a few ruins (we didn't see them all; instead went to Mesa Verde) and a kiva and the boys (ages 8 & 11) enjoyed the place. It is wonderfully dark at night. We chose this place for a more local/unique experience, which it is. Great... More

This was our last stop on our 10 day road trip through Colorado. We stayed for two nights but wish we had planned for more time to enjoy this very special place. Mark and Jerene were most gracious hosts; their B&B quite an intriguing place with much history. Situated on about 35 acres down in a beautiful red rock canyon,... More

Thank you so much for your descriptive and wonderful review! Just for your information, we actually do have a deluxe cabin with en suite jetted tub. In fact, en suite just means the bathroom is connected to the bedroom--not down the hall. So all of our bathrooms are "en suite". However, the deluxe cabin has merely 600 threadcount sheets and... The setting of Kelly Place is incredible. It is surrounded by red rocks, bordered by sagebrush and mature trees and red earth. There are a number of on-site Indian ruins that are easy to access by well-marked trails. We have been here for four days in the deluxe cabin, and I don't want to leave. Our friends are with us... We just stayed a few days in the deluxe cabin and it was just ok. I agree with everything the last reviewer wrote. The accommodations were average and yes there were little bugs here and there. The cabin was clean although the patio area could've used some tlc as far as umbrella at table not working and the patio furniture... More

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We appreciate all feedback and use it to improve our service. We were not aware that the umbrella on the deluxe courtyard table was defective. Thank you for letting us know so we can do something about it. Please understand that our location is in a canyon area and that there are no concrete... More

I am rarely disappointed by locations highly regarded on Trip Advisor, but this was certainly one of them. Perhaps it's because I was expecting a true B&B and this felt more like a motel with a family style breakfast area. Upon arrival, the lady that checked us in was not super friendly or welcoming, in that vein, the owners never... More

Thank you for taking the time to review and provide us with your feedback. We are sorry you feel disappointed. You were here during June when we averaged 25 to 35 guests each morning. As a small business and desiring to keep our rates low for you, we undertake most chores ourselves. We do fully understand that we need to... More

Kelly Place is the place to go for peace, quiet and a beautiful setting but still within an easy drive to Cortez for dining/shopping, etc. The duplex room we had was cozy, clean and comfortable with some unique features, e.g., a water evaporator cooling system, more than adequate even in 90+ degree weather. Would be difficult to prepare meals in... More

I visited the Cortez area to enjoy the ancestral puebloan culture. Kelly’s Place is a pretty convenient location. While it is a much longer drive to Mesa Verde and to Dolores, it was much closer to Hovenweep than staying in Cortez. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed a hiking trail from the front door of the cabin. There... More
